Buying 05-06 zx6r. need advice

Hey guys, im buying an 05 or 06 zx6r (dependning on what i find). I wanted to know your thought and experience on this generation ninja and anything (if any) that i should know and be aware of about this specific bike such as a known common mechanical problem and ...
I appreciate your feedback.
 
I have an 06 that I've had since new. I've never had any serious issues, just regular maintenance.

Nothing but good things to say about this year/model. Only complaint is that I'm having trouble finding track parts....but that's not really against the bike.

Best bike I have owned. Very fun, super reliable. And gosh is it ever a good feeling knowing when you hit the starter button that the bike will just come to life. I wish more could be said for the carburated bikes I owned.

I still have a full set of track bodywork if you would like. I also have some valtermoto rearsets

I don't need bodywork.....but I do need a tank! I've never heard of Valtermoto rearsets. Hmmmm
 
I have an '06 zx6r for a year now. Got it with 4k km, now has 12k km. No problems at all.

Just buy it, its sexy, and powerful.
 
Buy one...Awesome bike. rode one last season...had a couple small issues with the ECU overheating...found a used unit on here and she ran like new until I sold it.

I have about 50k on mine and she still runs like new, if not better.Of the three bikes I've owned, cbr600, aprilla rs125 I like this the most.

6durty6 is a BEAST!
 
best 6xx ever made id say, some call it a cheater bike but with a -1, 2+ you can beat gsxr 750s all day., much better looking and one of the most comfortable ss out there, had mine for 3 years and coming up to 40kms..
only issue was the second gear.. check kawiforums for anymore info on this or any other generation ninjas.

Alright guys, im sold (i was already when i rode it the first time lol). im getting an 05- green with 10xxxkms/ looks pretty clean and after all your comments, dont have much to say except for I CANT WAIT!!! tnx again :)
 
Got the bike 2 days ago. I cant stop smiling everytime i look at it and cant stop riding. Love it. so much power, so smooth and amazing seating position.

i have had one for 4 seasons and its awesome
i'm thinking of getting new fairings next year... maybe the lucky strike white ones.
