Actually I am hearing more and more about even simple speeding stops on bike being a three cop car ordeal... They call in backup and box you in before you know you are being pulled over. They are tired of bikes running. Crappy part is now they cant even be nice and reduce the ticket. The speed you were doing was recorded via radio.
So to the guys who ran... thank you! *evil glare*

What fiction are you reading? Police engines today are just high output versions of stock engines.
There are MTO cameras everywhere along the 401, 400, 404, Gardiner, and QEW throughout the greater Toronto area, too. Your entire progress can be followed on video, should the need arise.
They ain't gonna do that for the 20-over-the-limit that everyone else is doing ... don't stick out like a sore thumb.
I was pulled over leaving Cayuga on sunday. It goes from 50 to 80 leaving town, but I assumed the 80 a little sooner than the sign.
Apparently he was following me for about 1.5km before I saw him. I explained that the way the SV mirrors are, you only see your elbows where you 6 would be, and that I periodically lean my head over to see my 6. He understood what I meant and realized I didn't see him (I was maintaining my speed like normal).
He then said "I'm just glad you stopped".
He turned out to be a very decent OPP officer and he ended up letting me go with a warning. My politeness probably helped.

I'm pretty sure the Police aren't allowed to engage in a 'high speed' chase when there is traffic? They tend to go to other means to catch you at that point, and then throw the book at you for running.
... and all police officers in Ontario, regardless of OPP or city cops or anything else, are sworn to uphold the laws of Ontario. A city cop can write a ticket on a 400-series highway (OPP jurisdiction) with just as much validity as an OPP officer can write a ticket on a city street.

Its amazing how many people believe in a "jurisdiction" thing.. where if you make it past a point the Police officer cant ticket you.. Definitely too many people watched too many US TV Shows!

well, dude is looking at possible jail time too...what a silly law if he got charged with that 203 one...ah well, they'll pull you over if they "think" that you weren't driving properly...as for outrunning the cops...those cop cars can move pretty quick, so you either outsmart them or know how to ride your bike that can go a lot faster...

Okay, seriously - cops cars are not quick. They're big heavy vehicles that can chase down minivans and racing hatchbacks, they can not outrun anybody on a sportbike. However, they have this magical device called a radio, so that you end up running from one cop into about ten waiting for you up the road. Also, some police have helicopters! (Which can and do fly through airports, so don't bring that up either) I remember once the cops using a helicopter on a bunch of us for laughs, so they'll probably find the time for some stupid kid trying to run.

the helicopter requires permission to fly through pearson airspace, but they usually get it ahead of time and there are procedures to follow, at least from what i understand...as for cop cars are not quick, not everyone rides an SS that goes 200+, mine won't even go 200 off a cliff...so if i decide to run, i'd better know the area and know how to handle my bike...and i've met plenty of people on here that are far more cautious about riding and won't be running anytime soon, yet ride bikes that can take them closer to 300 than 200...it's funny the mentality of people that don't ride assume that i race around like a F1 car cuz i ride a bike...the cop also receives training to operate his vehicle safely at high speeds and how to manoever...not all of us go to track days either...
