Funny, as soon as someone suggests honda did something better/first you come in with why kawi is better / did it first.
I was actually opposed to the fact that it was done first. Which it wasn't. And Kawasaki has a track record of bringing track technology to their street bikes and I like that fact.
I own only a Yamaha right now and no Kawasaki. I was thinking about picking up a CBR900 soon. Like I said I like all bikes. Just because I owned a kawi and mentioned something positive about them (Which is actually true) doesn't mean I hate all other bikes or whatever stupid idea you got from that.

Cans are not sized by coincidence. Noise, emissions and tuning are the dictating forces. Weight too..not all big can systems are heavy just because they might look heavy.

When I bought this back in 05 first thing was a fender eliminator from the UK...I think Hamicad was the company name. Perfect swap out for that ridiculous plastic thing with a nice metal piece that integrated all the oem parts including tail lights with no mess.
Then, HoleShot slip-on from California. Kinda wish it wasn't so loud now that I'm a few years older but there's no real regret at all.

It wasn't the ONLY reason but I think it's nice. I'm happy with my maneuverability and performance. I don't plan on upgrading. This bike has more than enough power for well beyond legal speeds anyway. The only one I considered switching to was the F800 but after some insurance quotes I changed my mind.
If I were planning on racing it'd be different but then I'd just get a track bike if I were going a lot. Otherwise the 650R will probably be fine for a few fun days anyway if I ever get around to it.
I don't see what all the fuss is about regarding the SV exhaust. Once you realize that you have to hang off the left side of the bike just to go in a straight line, you pretty much forget about it. Maybe that's why people upgrade to the SV1000. You can sit in the middle of the seat, but I have no idea how those guys keep the front wheel on the ground with all that weight out back.
