Hey so I just picked up a GoPro Hero 1080P for crazy cheap from a friendGot just the camera and the plastic case, nothing else he lost/broke all the mounts. Where is the best place to get the mounts, do I need the black quik release thing in the pictures? Does that come with mounts. Is the grab bag of mounts include usable motorcycle mounts?I have a sv650 with a very dark smoke windscreen I'm not sure if the suction cup mount is tall enough to go over the windscreen. Anyone with a sv650 got any mounting recommendations (its a sv650s with clipons)Sry my blackberry shows paragraphs but its all messed up when I post

I noticed that even best buy is now selling the mounts, including the grabbag for about $30. For your motorcycle you probably want to pick up the suction cup mount, It is probably a little more expensive ($60??? maybe) but it works. If you are out near vaughn you can go to radioworld.ca they are on steeles right at the 400 and they have most of the go pro stuff.

Ya, I'm just worried that they won't be able to help me much at best buy. I live in the gta so something aurora, newmarket or richmond hill. What about henry's do they carry gopro

Henrys and Future shop carry GoPros... suction cup mount is about $35 IIRC.

the best place to mount cam, is your HEAD
or front windscreen, use the 3M sticky mounts

Would the 3m ones b at futureshop/bestbuy? Or they harder to find

best buy sells them so I would assume that FS does as well. you wont be able to mount it on your tank and see over the windscreen so on the front of the bike will work.

Also, mounting to the tank will show your speedometer, which you may not want the youtube world to see if you're out having fun...

Mount under the front fairing - right under the nose. Great POV that way. My bike's a big V-Twin (Buell 1125r) so there's some noise/clatter vibration under 4K rpm (yes, I have used all the proper anti-vibe dohickeys etc for anyone who suggests), but on an inline 4 or parallel 2 it shouldn't be a problem at all. You can use either the stick-on mount or the suction cup (depending on your bike's fairing).

i went to best buy and got the "grab bag of parts" comes with some assorted mounts and stuff but i have no idea what they do as there is no instructions in the package or online lol.

i was thinking of mounting one of the 3m VHB stick mounts

on the front top of my windscreen or like bigevildoer said under the nose of the fairing ill include pictures, do you think this would be safe, im a little sketched about screwing a camera to a little adhesive pad lol but i hear its like industrial strength.

(not my sv some random pic from google, i have same windshield just in dark smoke)

He wrote on YouTube he watched where the bird flew (not too far away apparently) and had to climb up to get it.

I have mine mounted on the inside of the wind shield up side down(in the menu there is an option to have it upside down but film right side up). Best bet is Vistek was just there last week picking up the suction mount. The have the grab bag of mounts in stock as well as the package of 5 3M sticky mounts.

Sorry just read yours is in dark smoke so that wont work. You can mount it up right then in front. The 3M sticks pretty good to it so you dont have to worry about it coming off.

If you buy the roll bar mount http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/roll-bar-mount/ you can mount it to your frame slider if you have one. The view from this position is good because you can see the front wheel and it gives you a good sense of how far the bike is leaning. The sound is also good because you can only hear the engine sounds and no wind noise. I run with the closed cover on the back.

You can also mount it to your front turn signal stalk with this mount as well if you want a more heads up view.
