Are the Speedo and the RPM gauge correct?

Since i've never ridden a SS, i'd like to know if the information shown in this video is correct and not edited.

As you can see, he downshifts like 10000000 times in just a couple seconds and slowing down over 100km/h in just a couple seconds, is the information on display real o.O:confused:. Does a quickshift basically allow you to stomp on the shifter like a maniac without causing a skid?

TIA

P.S Theres also a crash at the end

come out for a street ride with me and we'll see what CAN be done

or GO to any track and WATCH it for REAL

I have a real vid just like that,, somewhere around here

Am I the only one that thinks that looks like a game? ie not a real video? I mean really, when they go down the front straight he clips the guy he passes and nothing happens? C'mon...

he also can't seem to stay on the track in turn 1.

If it is a game, pretty real :lmao: Fooled me.

Yes, it is a game. Most likely Gran Turismo (they made a motorcycle racing game a while back).

EDIT: Maybe not, but it does rather surreal.

At the 1min mark I hear a up shift while leaned over in a turn? Even with experience at that speed dangerous and probably no racer would do it in the apex. There would be acceleration but not an up shift.

*ITS A GAME BTW. Camera fades anytime a viewing stand comes along so you dont see the fake spectators, + that hit on the motorcycle and nothing happened* + I can just tell.

Probably some editing was done, but a very realistic game indeed.

Most of the guys in the first video could drag their helmets through the corners even being that close to each other. This is what I expected it to look like:

If it is a game, the crash sure looked real... (Near the end) Along with the physics.

About the hit-look-a-like, i think the camera is at the front so it looks like it was a hit but in reality there was some sort of gap between him and the other rider. Everything looks closer on camera XD

Definitely a game, man. It looks surreal, but the crash graphics gave it away at the end for me. Also, in real life, this guy so shouldn't be on a track - not with passes and lines like that. But then again, I've never ridden on a track before (:D)

Not a game. I won't get into too much detail because I am a programmer but

#1. The amount of crap from that view is too much for any current gen console.

#2. The amount of crap that I'm seeing means every single texture is high resolution and there would be no low resolution textures, nobody programs like that...except maybe Battlefield 3.

#3. Crash graphics? You would see a huge *** drop in FPS, even on a super computer, from the particle effects of the rocks at the end.

And if this is actually a "video game" and not a professional simulation, than whoever made the engine would have been a damn millionaire....

In before someone thinks I'm talking about a motorcycle engine.

EDIT: Expanding on #2 after watching it again. There are no repeated textures. Even Gran Turismo 5, the most "advanced" driving simulation, uses copy and paste textures.

Yeah, Lynart's 3rd point is enough. The loose gravel in the crash gave away that it wasn't a game and not to mention the shadows. There's also a lack of aliasing.

LOL @ you guys thinking its a game.

Turn 1 at Monza is probably one of the most difficult braking zones you could find. Max Biaggi blew that turn when he had a 5 second lead in a WSBK race this year and it cost him the win. It's a difficult corner.

Also I can't tell if he actually did hit the other bike or if it was a near miss. Not crashing would suggest it was a near miss.

I would have to agree.
Its a real video system that displays speed and engine rpm on screen. It was probably one of the videos from their website at one point.

To get back to your question, I think a slipper clutch is being used to prevent wheel hop on the downshifts more than a quickshift does.

Slipper clutch and that guy is HARD on the breaks. If you watch a WSBK race at Monza that is a seriously tight corner. Also upshifting through a huge corner is fine or else you'd just hit the rev limiter 1/4 of the way through and everyone would blow past you. And that was a bs call by the officails in the race that Biaggi lost.

The call on Biaggi was most certainly NOT BS. In the riders meeting of that race, the officials told the riders that there was a painted line which they had to stay on if they over ran that corner. Biaggi being Biaggi decided he is too important to go to that meeting and as a result didn't know he had to follow a certain line. When he over ran the corner he didn't follow it. So they hit him with the penalty.
