About 9 ish this morning 400 Northbound just a few kms north of the 401.
A black Kawi was boxed in by Toronto police, and OPP was there in the south bound lanes.

Rider had his hands buried in his face, shaking his head. Hopefully things arent as bad they looked when i went by. A flat bed looked to be headed in that direction ..

Yikes.

It's obvious no? Going over 50km/h and now his riding days are over, also his bank account will be a little lower.

Who would speed on the 400? Everytime I use that highway I see so many cops...

Of course its obvious .. but here's a slight chance that maybe he broke down, or he was serving tim bits to the cops or something.

Hahaha that was a funny remark. BTW if this idiot was indeed speeding over 50km/h why the hell did he stopped for the cops? If I was speeding like that and saw cherries 1 km behind me believe me that I would not stop until I got to the garage in my house, I would be screwed anyways so why not try to get off scot free?

I'm on the 400 every day...I see alot of cops, but also alot of traffic. If you speed through that you're askin for it...LOL Stick with the speed of traffic(ish) and you'll be fine...

Some retard was driving like an idiot on the 401 E right off the 400 this morning... He didnt get caught... He was swerving around like he was on a race track probably 50km/h+ and ran me off the road in to the shoulder (I was going about 120 and he was gone in a matter of seconds)... I was in a car.... Grrr what a way to start off my day at 9:40 AM.

How far north on 400 are you talking about? I drove from Lang and 400 down to 401 -> Leslie and I didnt see anyone cops.

Just curious, can TO cops give you a ticket on the 400 north?

Toronto cop can give you a ticket in Thunder Bay if he wants..... except he'd have to go to court there too.

No, he could not. He could pull you over and detain you roadside for the local police or the OPP.

Yes.
Any police force in Ontario can give you a ticket anywhere in Ontario for provincial traffic law violations.

The big difference is that the OPP cannot enforce local bylaws. Only the police force of the municipality in question can enfore city bylaws (parking, noise, etc...)

As Metastable mentioned though, that officer will have to show up in court in whatever city/district the ticket was issued.
It's not really efficient for them to give out basic tickets when they are not in their own town, but if you do a big enough no-no, they might do it.
I often see Toronto Police Cars driving the QEW from Niagara.
I am as careful around them as I am with the OPP because Niagara is only an hour away from TO. Makes for a nice day trip for the police officer to show up in court, especially since he's being paid.

I've seen OPP cars giving tickets to motorists on Keel st. and on Steeles st, well over a kilometer away from the 407, what's up with that?

P.S. now you automatically pay $12.50 for every parking ticket you get to help pay for the police officer's overtime hours in trying to fight you, nazi germany move over, nazi canada is taking your place.

Um, police officers don't generally issue parking tickets. That's parking enforcement. At least get your griping right.

well... almost right. The 12.50 surcharge on the parking tickets is only if you choose to go to court AND lose the case. Courts are so overbooked as it is this might help their situation... but nobody elses.

Wow...guess you didn't over react at all !

Forget about stopping for the cops anymore. They got an "it's us vs them" mentality? They've got it now.

Bike boxed in by police cruisers? Rider burying head in his hands? It sounds like a rider who didn't have much choice in whether to stop or not.

Either way, sounds like another nice catch.

He COULD do that... but he doesn't have to. Chances are though, that yes he would keep you there, because then the ticket you would get, would have all the correct info about where to go to contest it or mail in the fine etc. However, he really doesn't have to wait for anyone.... and you could get the ticket in the mail a few days later with all the correct info on it.

They don't "got it now", they always had it, it's always cops versus "civilians", they feel like they are the elite people and everyone else is a lower form of life.
That's why they become cops to begin with, natural born power tripping bullies, many of them at least.
