Tow my bike for beer.

Hey guys,

CAA gave me a hard time about towing an un-plated bike so I called around to get some quotes and they are all hovering around $200 [money I don't want to spend on a tow]. So I figure why not see if someone on the forum will do it for a case of their favorite beer or something else.
The bike needs to go from Halton to Brampton before July 1st.

PM me for any other details, and it's a Cbr 125 by the way.

As for the reason why I am not just getting a plate for the bike is because the insurance is not effective until July 1st and the ministry will not give me a plate until the insurance is in effect.
Any other ideas are welcome.

A friend of mine lives in Brampton and has a van he moves his own bike around in. He's also a really fantastic, helpful guy so I'll ask him and let you know. If you could just pop for his gas, I can't see him saying no.

K well I'm new to this stuff so I wouldn't know how to properly strap it down in a van and it would probably be a disaster 'cause that is the way my luck has be working for the last week.
 
A member on this forum said they rented a u-haul trailer for bikes for $15 a few days ago.
 
Why did you even tell CAA it doesn't have a plate. The tow truck driver could care less.

I would and have given them a fake plate# or use a friends plate number or look for another 125 and use that one.

Alternately, you have a few days between now and the 30th. Why not get it plated and insured and just ride it home from the seller's house?

yulp! i did that. nice deal. but you do need a hitch right. ;-)

this is a time issue. time = money. unless we're REAL good buddies, then you're in for a favor right. ;-)
 
Thanks everybody for all the help, I think I might have this worked out with a few people, just trying to organize a date.

i live in milton and have a pick up. have transported and fzr400 and aprilia rs125 with no issue from cambridge to mississauga.
gas and beer will do. have straps , ramp.

Can most minivans carry most bikes? Are most bikes usually too long to fit? Do you need a extended van? ( grand Caravan vs Caravan)

I'm not a condo shopper but curious as to whether there are length or height limitations with minivans? I've tried driving with a trailer and it has always been an epic fail
