Clearing your own Brokerage fees

Long story short sheller was supposed to use USPS but thought they were doing me a favour with the impending strike (4 weeks ago) and send it to me fedex. Now I had told my wife to refuse the package if there were brokerage fees etc (and send it back to seller to resend). cue 4 weeks later I get a letter stating I have $100 in taxes (damn hst) and a $50 brokerage fee. Now the taxes I understand but I had major issue with the way fed ex hid the charges by billing me 4 weeks after when parts were already in use. I then had no issue.

So cue now I am going to process the brokerage fees myself. I have the form I need from fedex but have no idea where I need to go to file it and the fed ex morons are playing coy and not giving me the info I need.

Does anyone know where in Toronto I can go to pay the taxes and clear the Brokerage myself?
thanks
-Adam

Thanks so much Kelly. I knew the fed ex people were giving me the run around. They didn't even get the name of the agency right (they said it was the CBSC instead of CBSA) when they told me to go do it myself.

Im pretty sure I have a few of those unpaid invoices from Fedex. and youd think they would stop delivering to you if you dont pay but they still do...If it ever came down to collections or something like that, I would pull the "I didnt sign for the package" card....As they usually just let anyone in the building sign for my packages, which I also do not like...

They sent me to a collection agency after an unpaid brokerage fee and i just ignored it. Nothing has happened. Eventually i stopped getting those threatening letters (ruined credit score, etc)

Something the UPS guy once told me.

If something come in UPS you normally get killed on brokerage. If you use UPS Express (next day or whatever it is) which costs more they waive the brokerage. In most cases the higher fee is still much cheaper then the brokerage they charge.

Went and got my package cleared at 1 Front st and it was really easy. The guys were a little bewildered when I had a fedex form but they sorted it all out and in the end I ended up paying $47 for taxes as opposed to the $155 that fedex wanted me to pay them. Thanks for all the advice here.
