Why the wave?

But think of the 20oz NY Strip! I refuse to wave to pigeons based solely on the fact that they've **** on my bike.

I also live downtown and easily see half a dozen or more bikers on any given route that I take to destinations. I nod out of respect and to me it is a much more meaningful than a wave. It's a nice sign of respect that reminds you another like minded person is on the road which in the end makes it safer for "you" to be on the road.

I would like to add that the hate on the e-biker is plain rude. Some of us (like myself) found themselves on their 650cc's after driving an e-bike for a couple years. I know its a crazy thing to fathom that not "all" e-bikers are nut jobs. Anyone on two wheels of transportation needs to stick together.

I respect that, reminds me when i got owned by a car riding my bmx i didn't even have a G1 back then, there were like 50 or so bikes in the plaza, they all came running like a horse stampede to help.
 
I usually wave or nod. Doesn't bother me if I don't get one back...I do it anyway. If you ride past me and I didn't wave...means I was more attentive to the road than usual, and didn't see you...wave more vigorously next time. ;-)

wave is going the way of the dodo..

saw 3 sport bikers this morning in slow traffic in lanes next to me - two decided to whizz by me so I could see them.. lol . no acknowledgments.. I guess I am too intimidating ;) lol!!
 
Oke had enough. I will NOT wave at any biker with a purse, messenger bag or however you call it. They lower our badass status too much.

I think it's more likely the op cant handle the feeling of rejection when he initiates the wave and it isn't returned. There there little kipper.
