drunk idiots messing with my bike

Hi everyone,

I left my bike in the same position it was, saturday, sunday and monday night, prior to the unforeseen circumstances that came about on friday night. Those two losers did not return, and my bike has not been played around with since.

The damage is not a few hundred dollars... only about $30-50. I ordered a new set of stock r6 mirrors off ebay, for $30 with shipping; a friend of mine is going to make me a touch up paint, for next to nothing; and the license plate bracket can be fixed through cutting a clothes hanger.

I'm not going to remove my posting, since these 2 idiots did not even bother flagging the police..they know what they did, and they are on my buildings camera.

I don't see the point in justifying my actions any further; it is what it is. 2-3 friends have heard my story since. I just can't be bothered going about it.

Yea, I gave a beat down to two 150 pound kids, standing 6'0, my age; 19-22.

I appreciate all the postings, some more than others. Maybe its all the hype I've heard over the years, and scenes I've seen on the tv about people messing with peoples cars/bikes getting the beat down, which made me see red as soon as I walked to the idiot kicking my bike. Brain washed?

I don't see the point in taking pictures, I can't be bothered in justifying something that actually happened. The only photo I have, is what my landlord printed out for me from the security camera, which was 10 feet from where it happened. Its a clear photo of one of the faces. The owners set up a pretty decent HD video camera system throughout the building. I'll probably take the photo with me on thurs-sat night, since these 2 hang out at one of the bars next to my street; St. Laurent blvd. I am very sure, they live in the mcgill ghetto or in the vicinity of my building. They are just a pair of pussy university students who got excited thinking tipping over a bike was a bad *** thing to do. Kind of pathetic considering they did not have the balls to throw punches back at me, yet maybe they felt empowered by tipping over my bike, to get back at me.

good on ya mate. i would have done the same thing. who wants to deal with court and everything calling the cops on these guys would have given you alot more aggrevation. hope they learned their lesson and dont come back

either the OP is a very weak person (unlikely since he managed to take onenof the guys to the ground) or the whole story is BS. If you had managed to land at least half the hits you claim to have landed, including the elbows, the guy you didn't hit would have been too busy bringing his buddy to the hospital to come back and tip over your bike.

I have been working in bars/nightclubs for a few years and have seen my fair share of violent altercations. When you have someone pinned to the ground and are pummeling them with fists, let alone elbows, after 3 or 4 hits they are pretty messed up. It sounds like you hit them a few more times than that. Like I said, your either kinda weak or this story is BS

OP could be weak, story could also be BS...however, I've seen drunk guys take a beating like a champ get up talk more s**t, take another beating, get carried out and on their way out still talking smack... So I can believe this story

And how are you going to take their ID from them, assuming they are even carrying any on them? What if they say they have none? Ae you going to search them? Under what authority? Some would call that theft, and there is nothing in law permitting a private citizen to forcibly seize or take control of ID. If anything, taking their wallet and ID could put you in a bigger jackpot than them.

you dont need any authority.... if youre already beating some sense into them, pulling their id out isnt exactly that far fetched of an idea.

to the OP, well done, but i would pull the story down just in case the police do get involved.

Honestly I do not expect police to do anything. I use to think they would help you if you had property stolen or broken into... but I guess they have more 'important' things to do, like catching speeders and stuff, because it's easy for them and they collect money.

Don't get me wrong, rules of the road needs to be enforced and stuff, but when it comes to you needing their help... well, i wish there was better things to say about the police.

Case 1 ( http://forums.redflagdeals.com/theft-while-ttc-subway-april-16-a-1028588 ), phone was stolen from TTC, but police did nothing, even though the blackberry had the ability to track up to the point until they took out the SIM.

Case 2: Property got broken into, although it's best to catch the theives earlier so the case doesn't go cold, but all the did police was took a report and told to claim through insurance. Material can be bought again, but not the content of stuff that's on laptop computers and what not that was stolen. Again, blackberry that was stolen all had blackberry protect software which has GPS tracking abilities. Again, police did nothing, even though the data was fresh, now obviously the GPS tracking is no longer working.

We need this law up here in Canada or Ontario: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOP2TuanjMA

Where we can take matters into our own hands.

I feel for you man... hope it doesn't happen again.

As much as i would hate to see someone doing this to my bike, im afraid that maybe you should let it slide at this point becuase the way you describing it makes it sound like an easy case for assault against you which unfortunatlyh is much worse than a vandalisim case against some kids..

They ****ed around, you beat em up.. Id leave it at that
