Fell for the first time...

Hey everyone,

So I lowsided my SV taking a slowish (30-40km) left turn today...

Really don't know what happened, picked my line, flicked in, before I even started turning my rear tire came out from under me and I was sliding.

I blame it on the road (pretty slick and worn down/ had a little pothole where it looked like I fell). Might have been me though for all I know.

Handlebar bent, ASV lever bent, forks tweaked a bit.
Little scratch on fairing, but barely there.

fork sliders and frame sliders took most of the damage, thank god I installed those!
Exhaust has rash, but closer to underneath so not so noticable.

Bar end snapped off, and I think there is red loctite on it, so that's going to be fun trying to extract that screw....

I am fine, got the blood pumping but really wasn't that bad at all.

Just thought I'd rant lol.

BTW anyone have a spare SV left clip on they want to sell?

nothing to blame but yourself...

good luck getting the bike back on the road, glad your not hurt...

good to hear that you're safe... should have been riding at what the road conditions could bear though..

safe riding!

Road looked fine to me upon entry. Buddy was behind me and he took the turn fine as well.

It's true though, no one to blame in the end but myself. Gotta be more careful.

I'm one of those people that rather not have chicken strips. Guess my excessive leaning got the better of me, I just leaned too much without being fully prepared.

"riding at what the road conditions could bear" is definitely something I should be doing.

Stay safe everyone!

Glad to hear your not hurt.. I know the potholes out there are freakin' nasty!!

Had on full gear (mesh, but still). Scafoid protector on my left glove got rashed, and a little on my pants.

Walked away scot free pretty much, could have been a lot worse.

Squishy hugs? really? I think I'll stand in line behind Wearelopey... ;-)

dang, I should have posted when I went for a slide last year.. could have done with some squishy hugs! ;)

lol!

seriously, OP, glad you're okay. could have been anything, mud, slick surface - maybe you were too quick on the throttle? (that was my mistake) or tapped the rear brake?

glad you are ok time for some

I think pretty much everyone here has slid out at least once.

Do you remember leaning on the throttle at some point? Any build of of sand/grit in the intersection that you recall?

Oh, and if this is something ya never thought of, please don't think I'm superior in any way. Seems that when you point something out that someone doesn't know, you're an *******.

In combat, you only fall once. Well, atleast where there is blunt, and not so blunt weapons involved.

You're funny! just walk up to me at a meet...I give almost everyone hugs =) Unless you smell, then you get gradeschool style hugz.

I washed out on a pothole vs a potential beamer few days ago. No gear
Last year, my friend washed out looking at a hot girl :lmao:

Glad you are fine. Bike can be fixed, and thankfully it looks like you wont have too much to fix.

I usually enjoy making lefts... but I do watch for debris "most" of the time...

Glad you're OK

I nearly fell last week...I looked at the wrong weather forecast and got caught in the middle of that thunderstorm...first season too. I have to admit I was pissd scared and I couldn't see **** but the we learn from our mistakes ;)

Sorry to hear you joined the first type of riders.

Glad you are okay.

Sand will do it....you may not even see it either. I came close to low-siding on Wed night because of a light dusting of sand going into a corner. Bike in front of me was fine, so I didn't realise it was even there until my back end went out. Once I slid through the sand my Pures grabbed the road again and my bike righted itself. Just about peed myself...and discovered when it comes down to it...I DO scream like a girl ;)

Glad that you're okay. Hope you can get your bike fixed up and get riding again :)
