SUZUKI 600 cc (what is wrong with them)

I know what is wrong with it!!!

My 06 and many other 06-07's are Jerky.

The throttle is not steady.

Adjust your TPS and balance the throttle bodies. Problem solved. Secondary throttle plates in your bike and others also help alleviate this problem inherent with many EFI bikes. The factory lean settings can also be tuned out to kill this issue. Google is your friend.

You'd be better off asking what isn't wrong with them.

Cons:
Not beginner friendly
Uncomfortable for longer rides
Sucks gas
4 cylinders worth of maintenance
Wind protection
Low weight allowance
No storage
Uncomfortable ergonomics
Low speed maneuverability
Higher on theft list
Reputation of riders
Suspension for road use
Trouble is a twist away
etc. etc. Ad nauseum.

LOL! You have basically just stated that you are a cruiser guy only and don't like sportbikes.

he stated some true facts...i admit its uncomfortable, but what 600 isn't? sucks gas, yes. no storage, true (but who needs this... my gixxer is just an expensive toy), I use my car to get from A to B. uncomfortable ergos...true, and theft is high.

Just my opinion/experience.

That list basically describes most, if not all, sportbikes. Not just pertaining to the GSX-R.

As for the "reputation of riders", this can be attributed to the fact that the Gixxer sells the most of the big 4 Japanese bikes, therefore there are more on the road. Resulting in more dbags riding them.

What's a cruiser? I own a Connie and a WeeStrom at the moment. I wouldn't consider either of them beginner friendly either.

My first bike was a 250 cc cruiser that I wish I had kept. I'd be able to ride it properly now.

I would think the wee is beginner friendly except that it is a bit tall. The connie has a bit too much heft. Which 250 did you have?

I love my 07 gsxr.. I have had no problems on it at all, over 2 years all I have done is basic maintenance, and I put 9500kms on mine...

I do not feel uncomfortable on my bike at all, I can go 8-10 hours, yeah I will be a bit tired, but its pure fun... and I don't find the bike to be heavy either, I can move that thing around without any problems. My bike doesn't have that jerky throttle issue either, so I have no idea what that's like.

I tried every single bike I could get my hands on (SS only no cruisers), and found the GSXR to be the most comfortable (for me). Parts are everywhere just in case something does happen...

This was my first bike as well, and I had no problems learning on it.

Yes, I love my bike too and can talk it up, but in the end you'll find some other bike that is more comfortable, lighter, better on the throttle and all kinds of other things. SS are built for the track. I try to carry a first aid kid for those who ride them since they don't have the space.

depends on your height, weight etc

ive ridden every sport bike out there and found the 04-05 gsxr 600/750 to be the most comfortable.

most people buy a bike for looks and then defend their purchase cause obvioously what they bought must be the best, i actually took the time to ride all the choices, and what fits me the best will not be the best for others.
So many people are focused on what the best is, forgetting that the best is what's best for you. I'd love to know how many people who complain about the gix 600 are actually in good shape? Backing up takes some work, but whatever, the gym is your friend :)

Even if you're in shape the difference between a standard seating position and SS seating position is night and day. It is possible to get SS looks without SS ergos though, just many people overlook those kinds of bikes I find for whatever reason....be it posing, peer pressure or the perceived need to have a race ready/replica bike.

Besides people that love to complain about nothing? None.

But then again, how many people are in good shape in North America? Not many.

Could you carry my water bottle for me? All my junk in my trunk is taking up way too much space.
