Don't really want to buy 250 cc,because i know i will get bore with it plus want to buy something that i will stick with next 5 years.
Please suggest me some 600-650 cc bikes

And also need opinions? what about Honda cbr600 or kawasaki zx6r or suzuki zsxr 600

I would never go over posted speed limit
:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Yeah you might get bored of a 250cc but I say get a cheap used one, keep it for one season, sell it for almost what you bought it for, and then upgrade. It's very likely you will have a least a minor drop and if you buy something more expensive you're going to regret it more.

No 600cc bikes are newb friendly and if you're only going to go the speed limit anyway there is no point to a supersport capable of over 250 km/hr.

For an older 650cc sport bike I'd say SV650. But if you're never going to go over the posted limit anyway, why would you want something bigger than a 250? They'll do at least 130 and still accelerate faster than a lot of cars. A 650 will do at least 200 which is unnecessary based on your requirements.

I don't think many people are going to suggest a Ducati as a first bike like the guy above did...

Where does this "I know I will get bored" attitude come from?

600 katana's offer decent size, does not have super performance, but will put a smile on your face. Insurance also classifies as a standard rather then a sport bike which will keep $'s down for a beginner

I've wondered the exact same thing myself. Also not sure why people (on this forum) feel the need to tell someone "you *will* get bored..."

Personally, I think most, if not all, new riders should start on a smaller displacement motorcycle, i.e. 125, 250 (400?).

To the OP. The only bike I can recommend is the Honda CBR125. This is my second "season" riding it, and I'm not "bored", yet :) But, I'm pretty sure that's not what you are looking for. Good luck with your search and ride safe.

You can start riding on anything. Really, I mean that. However there are bikes that are more beginner friendly and anything over 500cc isn't the best for a beginner. It doesn't matter if it is an Old School 600 either.... they are still very fast and weren't a good beginner bike back in the day, so they aren't now either.... especially considering many will have shagged suspension etc.

Just something to think about .... BrianP on this board has be racing for years, and he rides a CBR125 on the street. Just saying..... but seriously you can start off on a Hayabusa if you want... there really isn't that much difference between that and a CBR600.... except you go a bit quicker when you twist the throttle and it's a bit heavier.... not as fidgety though.

And one more thing.... what is so wrong with buying a cheap beginner bike and selling it for approximately the same amount a year (or sooner or later) from now?

If you're worried about the embarrassment of having a lower displacement bike, you're in this hobby for the wrong reasons.

Buy a bike you feel will suit your needs. Just remember the only people judging you by the displacement of your engine are the same posers that camp out in parking lots and scream down straights only to park it in a corner. Be judged by your riding capabilities, not by the hunk of metal and plastic you've got strapped between your legs.

Where does this "I know I will get bored" attitude come from?

I can't help but think that it might be because in many cases small bikes are boring and large bikes are less boring, but that the two factors aren't necessarily linked intrinsically.

Big bikes tend to look nicer than small bikes. Many of the best looking bikes have large displacements.

Big bikes tend to have more features and options than small bikes.

Big bikes tend to get the newest technologies first.

So maybe people move from small boring bikes to large interesting bikes not because the large bike is larger, but because it is less boring in other ways?

Maybe it isn't really a size thing at all and manufacturers just need to start making more interesting small displacement bikes.

I just recently bought a 2010 Suzuki GSXR600 as my first bike and loving it! I feel that it all comes down to self control. No matter what you ride you can still seriously hurt yourself. I personally like the mode selection on the GSXR which restricts the torque a little throughout the modes (A,B,C). I mainly use C when its raining and the rest of the time A. If you feel you have enough self control you should be just fine. I have no regrets not buying a 250 as well as my 2 other first time rider friends, who are riding a CBR600RR and an R6. Control is all the in the wrist. Good luck with the search.
