We complain about the "cagers" but are we any better?

The blocking position is overrated. It's a lot less common for someone to try and split your lane than it is for them to fail to see you outright. The proper riding track should be called the "visibility position", and we're just as (in)visible in the centre lane as any other. The only times I've had someone move into my lane is when they didn't see me.

I agree. I fail to see how I'm gonna block a 2 ton pick up with my 200kg bike. I position myself for visibility and impact avoidance, NOT blocking. Also, if you're in the right or left lanes and bad stuff happens in front of you and you decide to bail out on to the shoulder, be aware that many people in front and behind you in their cars are likely to do the same. The better option, in my view, is to split the lanes and go where the cars behind you can't go.

some drivers feel safe in the left lane...i see it all the time...mostly its women with a death grip on the steering wheel and tunnel vision straight ahead until 100 feet before their exit when they put on their signal and cross 3 lanes and hope for the best...we allow too many poor drivers on the road in this province...it's gone from bad to worse...immigration hasn't helped as some of them bring their driving habits here...ask the cops that have to deal with these drivers...they won't go on the record but all of them know...but thats just part of the problem...our governments have found other uses for the money they should be using for infrastructure and the roads have not kept up with the growing population...i have managed to be sexist and racist and bashed the government with one posting but look around and try to call me a liar

I've been on group rides where the group hog the left lane too. I don't want to break the group and I dont want to stay and block others. Faced with a dilemma
