Parry Sound Sport Bike Rally! Use it or lose it!!!!

Can you back that up?

Of course not!!! You crazy?

I'll save time by not even trying. The end result will be the same anyway.

Or too many entitled, and not enough grateful.

I'll agree with the too many entitled. But with the taxes, service/license/user fees, there is no need for most people to be grateful.

I was thinking more like:

Greatfull to have healthcare that mostly works, and will likely keep my family alive a long time.
Greatfull that my government does not rule via military (althought with some of thes people on this site you'd swear they did).
Greatfull that people dont blow themselves up routinely at Square One (not even the poor G20 protesters)
Greatfull that we have more freshwater at our feet than almost any country as within its boarders
Greatfull that we are one of the most desireable countries to live in, in the world
Greatfull that our education system is still mostly working (again unless you ask some GTAM regulars)

You know...crazy stuff like that. Big picture stuff. Now here comes all the rockstars and whiners to tell you the above is complete trash, and they are moving to some other country where things are WAYYYY better. Without actually mentioning where that would be.

I say let them go. Get rid of the sludge that is holding us back by shoveling it over to some other country to let them deal with it. I've been to and lived in many other countries and I don't need any survey or United Nations decree to tell me where the best place to live is - I already know and I'm already living in it. The wrong province, mind you, but the right country.

NO NO NO!!! They dont intend to actaully GO anywhere. Lets not talk crazy talk. They just want to regurgitate things they read on the interweb, and post it like they KNOW something.

Most of the class A whiners here have never been out of 905. Let alone the country. Or their 20's for that matter.

The Charter guarantees mobility rights, assuming you haven't been immobilized for cause into a jail cell. Let's help the chronic malcontents make Canada a better place - encourage them to exercise their mobility rights to emigrate to anywhere else in the world they think is a better place to live.

I have offered rides to the airport/bus terminal, on SEVERAL occasions. Have yet to find a taker. Still working on it.

You won't hear that from me. As an immigrant to this great country I still shudder at the thought that we almost didn't emigrate here. Selfishly, I hope this country continues to be great.

As a great man once said. "...you are growing on me man...".

I hate this sucky pissy country, I'm moving to the States! My plane leaves Friday morning March 4th. I need you to pick me up at 6.

The decline started when Mike left, and the first 2 yrs the City took over they did a good job. But the problem is the City no longer wants us here. I have been coming to it since 94 and i just enjoy the ride on the back roads and the radar run. It sucks that is has been declining. I liked it when they moved everything in town especially when they had all the vendors at the harbor on Bay St. and was pretty cool when they shut down James.

Because of City council i dont think Parry Sound deserves the Bike rally anymore...
Move it to a town that wants it, like Huntsville ect.
For like 30yrs the town has been raking the money because of this event and this is how they repay us ? F-them...

+1 for Huntsville. Much prettier town. Or even better, Collingwood.

Hey everyone, I just want to get some feedback in regards to the Parry Sound Sport Bike Rally. I used to go all the time when I rode my ZX9 and always had a great time. It seems each year that the number of bikes going is decreasing. When I went , we always took pride in having a rally stictly for sport bikes and always had a blast. My question is simple and I will forward the info to the organizers. Why is this rally slowly dying. What needs to be done to make it great again? :happy3:

Fatino, in no small way with his car-racing slammed Civic's directed street-racing law. Pisses me off every time I see one of those altered cars with their brappy exhaust and driver wearing his baseball cap sideways that couldn't drive himself out of a wet cardboard box. THOSE types are the ones who brought this ******** of heat down on the rest of us on 2 wheels.

That, and the 15% of the attendees should have quit viewing the rally as some sort of get out of jail free for all and not act like total ***** in the wrong place. By default this would have kept the constabulary at bay, which, combined with that heat affecting insurance premiums and cheap shot charges...well, it put the writing on the wall, didn't it? It got too big, which by default increased the presence of ***** (even if percentage-wise are relatively low in number, but gain huge negative Jackson Prosko Global type media-ized publicity) doing stupid things.

I go every year. Some people say too far? That is friggin laughable. The rally however never really meets my expectations. I like the sport bike angle of the rally too although I ride a VFR .... go figure I will probably go again , and have stayed at foley and had great times there . They need to have it centered at foley for old time sakes imho.

I camped at Foley last year, for nostalgia's sake, but there was nothing else there. The dyno trailer by Hoogeveen used to be there, and food and beer in the building. Really, REALLY good food! Now there's just a bunch of children who rev their GXSR 600s to redline over and over every twenty minutes, ALL NIGHT LONG. I'm staying at the Provincial Park this year, which is just across the road, and if I hear that guy again, I'm going to ram his red hot pipe up HIS pipe.
