York U parking

Okay...wtf, I got a ticket for $100 for "blocking/obstructing sidewalk/walkway access"

I thought it would be like $30...but I guess I was wrong.

If it was a legit ticket, it'd be fair game...but the 2 other bikes around me didn't even get a ticket & mine wasn't blocking/obstructing anything more than theirs were.

Any tips to avoid getting dinged again? :S
use that ticket everyday you park there lol..
i did that as well..

if you were parked behind the CSE building i was there too, the black R6. i got a ticket, i came out just as the little #*&$^@ was writing my ticket. I had a few words with him but obvs not much i can do...he told me to park in the parking lot directly behind but theres not much room for more then 2 bikes in the designated area and if your running late your screwed...

Edit: ya i think im gunna bring my ticket with me and just leave it in the gas cap next time haha maybe it will fool them, atleast for a little.

Got a ticket there today too (Silver zx6r). Also 100... They start giving tickets once there are more than two bikes there.

Let's make a rule, if you see two bikes already parked, dont park there!

I'm not paying the ticket rather just adding it to my pile...

Just park at seneca, if you're too lazy to do the walk then you deserve the ticket.

Btw, they check tickets to make sure they aren't old ones... be careful.

Seneca and CSE are like on opposite ends of campus..... thats like a 10 min walk man your crazy.

55 if you see a hot girl on the way

Dude for some reason yorku people are weird. I always have dudes checking me out and the girls aren't that interested... makes me go wtf. Some guy in the elevator of the student centre had a professional looking camera and he asked if he could take my pic... weird *** ****.

C'mon girls, I'm ugly, but not FUGLY... gimme a chance T_T

Guys, I have a genius plan. If you see a funny sign on a 250...that'd be mine.

Where was this? Bike rack? Seneca?
Bike rack, computer science & engineering building

Ahh, so that was you. My bad...
Just a heads up though: you gotta pay the tickets or you can't graduate.

Is the designated space free? I thought those spaces were for people who paid for a motorcycle parking permit :S I've seen bikes in those spots get tickets before.

I've seen them ticket there sometimes and sometimes just pass on it. They're like a chick on PMS... totally unpredictable, extremely moody, don't make any sense and it's always your fault.

Does anyone know if these guys have to have a quota to fill when issuing tickets? Does it somehow affect their pay if they issue more?

God damn though...$100?!

It's funny no one like them. The yorku security hate them a lot. They even ticketed the yorku security guys who had to pay the ticket... yorku security got back at them by ticketing them.

They're on serious power trips.

btw dude which bike is yours? the black 250? I think i've seen you there a couple of times.

Okay, where's a place that always gets ticketed but actually doesn't block any "walkways"? I'm gonna try my sign, and if I still get a ticket...then I give up.
:(

It's a shame that classes are almost done, 'cause I think this has potential.

Yeah...black 250. I believe there's a couple others, so it might not have been me. If anything...feel free to yell "knowledge!". If I don't look, then it's 'cause it isn't actually me.:p

haha what helmet colour/brand is yours? Easiest to recognize with that. I have the organe/black shark rsr2 durhammel one. That and I'm brown so I should be easy to pick out.

Last year I also got two 100 tickets so I actually fought them cause they were ridiculous. I gave them my friends address and name and wrote down on the paper that he was the owner. They've been sending him mail all the time and he doesn't care because he's studying pharmacy somewhere else.

Hopefully they wont bother to trace the plates. I've also heard that you can change your plates before you graduate and than argue that you never had those plates and thats why you would never have received those tickets.

Also, I'm down for a yorku ride. Hopefully not city riding, somewhere up north, maybe mussleman lake.

If you don't the short walk you should try the Track and Field center right off Steeles. I parked there everyday last summer and never got a ticket. Sometimes I park in the lot if the front spaces are open, or else I just park by the front doors.

This is slightly off topic, but as for the repercussions of getting tickets, I racked up 2.5gs in tickets with one of my parent's cars when I was just going there to train. (I didn't go to school there at the time) And I did a lot of research and ended up finding out their tickets aren't legal. I didn't get anything from them for over 2.5 years then they started sending letters to my house requesting to pay. However I did eventually buy the track and field parking pass which was about $300 for the year, regular price is around a few grand so in the end I still came out on top by a large margin.
