Hey... Just wanted to see if any of you guys have used Z1 Cycle-Tech on Green lane and what your experience were like... I am planning on taking my bike there next week to get some work done. A couple of buddies swear by them and say that they are the only shop they would let touch there bikes.. What do you guys think???

I'm bumping this thread because I'd also like to hear feed back, as I'm thinking of taking my bike their to get my suspension set up !!!

took very good care of me. I take all my work Zeds way.

He has a history in racing too, very experienced with supersports. Totally recommended.

he does quality work and he doesn't lie,

one of my tubes split because the guy prior used to track the bike i guess...zaid originally quated me 290 to get it fixed and he said it would be about a week, i got the bike back the same day at less than half what he quoted me.

altough i'll tell you this, he is very forgetful with names and usually only recognizes some one based on there bike and color...LOL

Outstanding work, one of the most experienced and best equiped Dyno shops in the region, and not just on FI bikes. Fabrications, tons of experience on both street and race Ducatis, you can't go wrong. Like all good shops they're busy at this time of the year so plan ahead.

Except warranty work, Zeno worked on every single bike I've owned. Fair prices, great workmanship, I absolutely recommend him. And if you treat him right, he doesn't forget it.

Have you considered checking/searching the reviews forum where over time there has been several reviews of Z1? Anyways, the shop has always done by us very well. Been going to them for 6+ years.

Do you pack the panniers every time or can you make it there with just your tank bag?

Anyways yeah, I emailed them once. They emailed me back right away with a complete response. Already that counts for a lot these days.

Ya.. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread.. I didn't even realise there was a review forum...

Anyways.. I'm taking the bike there Saturday and dropping it off for the week.. already booked the appointment... Looking at getting a Power commander and getting him to dyno tune the bike. Was also considering getting him to do a -1/+2 on the gearing and set up the suspension. Was kindof wanting to see the experiences from you guys before I decided.. By the positive comments I may have him do everything.. Really appreciate the responses....

Zaid is a good honest guy and a great mechanic... can't go wrong with takin your bike to Z1. He's been around a while too.

I would never let anyone else touch my bike. They are very competitivley priced but there knowledge is second to none. And just remember....if wally on the corner will do it for half the price, he has half the knowledge.....you get what u pay for...but like i said very competitivly priced.

Mixed reviews for me. He at least found out why my ducati kept shutting off while riding (bad kickstand sensor) but had to wait a full week to get my bike back from the shop. He didn't tell me about him leaving to the races and wasnt very happy about that. He had a bit of a cold attitude towards me also (sorry i was new to riding and asked questions). Needless to say I wont ever go back.

I have a newbie question, kind of off-topic.

By taking my bike there for service instead of the dealership, it shouldn't void my warranty, right?
I've looked at their website and I believe they are certified with Kawasaki.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Warranty on a bike is useless, nothing will go wrong with a new bike for the first year and if it should it will happen with in the break in. Most people do the work themselves.

The new guy at the counter is Paul and he knows his stuff when it comes to parts and work orders, specially older Ducs. He'll find whatever it is that you're looking for and call you back right away with updates, and he always answers the phone.

Like I said earlier, they know their ducs. As far as their schedule goes it's the same for all decent shops in peak season. Bike shops are pretty much a seasonal business in Ontario, so it's difficult for a shop to be fully staffed all year. They simply cannot afford to keep all the required staff all winter so they can be fully staffed in the riding season. Some shops lay off staff in the winter in the hopes that they can get them back in the spring; however, you can image that most quality mechanics will either find other work, or as many others have done, leave the motorcycle industry for the more consistent auto industry. The two mechanics at Z1 are very competent and Zaid jumps in to help on most days, but as with most good shops I assume that they are simply busy in the peak season and will have slightly longer turn around times. It's an unfortunate side effect, but that's the price we pay in Canada.

In the US you can get a complete race motor re-built in a week, regardless of the time of the year, hell, most good race shops even stock modified heads on an exchange basis.......in Canada....not so much.
