what do you need help with?

what do you need help with?

As stated " looking for an opinion on which way I should build these motor mounts"

specifically wether to build mounts that use suspension bushings off a car to isolate the motors movement from the frame. Or to just go ahead and hard mount it to the frame directly and pray your teeth don't rattle out of your face when your in it.

No need to be a prick about it.

He asked what you need help with because your post is so vague I have no effing clue what you're trying to build. Are you putting an engine in a car, a truck, a go kart, another bike, a tractor, a blender? Wtf are you trying to do.

A gokart with an R6 motor.
Check out Youtube for similar builds (R1 motor, gixxer motor, etc), they are insane!

I would love to build something like this but where would you use it?!
I have an off road version in mind using the suspension off an old race quad.

From the videos I watch at work, most people use them in parking lots (so you have to tow/haul it there) and a few have illegally operated them on the streets. Obviously they cannot be registered and plated.
The coolest video I seen was an R1 kart and he drove on the streets and through town for a good 15 minutes, rolling stop signs and clearly looking everywhere around him for any signs of law enforcement. It was a very powerful machine and I'm sure the video doesn't do it any kind of justice when it comes to how quickly it accelerates and handles.

For facilities to accomodate these karts, a lot of people would need to get into it.
I'm pretty sure they won't let karts ride on a track with bikes or cars on lapping days, I figure it would have to be a karting lap day or privately rent the track for the day for you and a few buddies, which would be VERY costly just to run a kart with no competitive intent.

We built these in university with 600cc motors. We tested in parking lots and raced on portions of race tracks, but it was all organized by SAE or IMechE. For your bushings you'll need to get them made custom to your frame... I dont know what you're using for a frame, but if you have access to a lathe the bushings are easy.

have used poly eurethane control arm bushings for motor mount inserts in 300+ hp turbo 4 cyl cars. They will work fine for your application, but I suggest getting a soft durometer for such a light motor. The softer you go , the more vibes they will absorb.

Also when mounting the motor try to emulate the head angle the engine would otherwise have in the motorcycle's frame to ensure proper oil level in the sump in that orientation.

Thanks dudes. Its now clearly spring weather, the frame is back out of storage and im working on it hard daily. Got poly bushings re: Omnivores comment, and i think that will work out pritty awesome ill just run the bushings inside som large diameter tube and weld the tube to the frame in a way that clocks the motor similar to the way its mounted in the bike. If anyone still wants to offer input and thoughts regarding sprocket and chain choices pm me and ill get you my number.

Still need a few parts to finish it up after the motor is in place. Ill list em, If you have anything below to offer at a fair price pm ill be checking back daily.

parts list:
R6 battery
headlights / taillights
Racing seat of any decent shape. / 4/5 point harness
fuel tank from and r6 and fuel pump
Kart tires if anyones got em
rear disc and caliper for a kart axle ( to be the second brake )
intake filters the single ones or the entire air box assembly and ill fab a scoop.
radiator
the right fluids

Again not assuming people on here would have everything on this list. just thought id list it all anyways. Thanks again to all those who had some constructive input, it helped steer me in the direction of the right information.
