WTF team GTAM!?!

So I finally got around to joining team GTAM for the online fundraising challenge, and all I can say is WTF! Pardon the language, but seriously, we are in 6th place with 1 month to go!!!! When I joined, I almost doubled the teams total. We should be in 3rd or 4th place now, but still.

Its time to step it up people or we are going to lose the on-line fundraising challenge for the 1st time since it began! So get out there and start your fundraising. Remember all those friends and co-workers who hit you up to buy chocolate almonds etc so their kid can go to Mongolia for a soccer tournament? Well now its time to get them back! Know a friend that owed some money when they got their taxes done? Remind them that by donating to charity they can get a tax write-off that will help them with that next year! Play an instrument? Start busking. Everyone has a penny jar that they've been hoarding, tell them to donate it to you.

Cutekill is hosting a car/bike wash at the end of the month so don't forget to hit that up and help the cause! She is also holding a band-a-thon so go out and see it and help the cause. Me, I've had an add on Kijiji all winter asking people to donate their gently used items to a yard sale I will be holding for Ride for Sight. My basement is stuffed and so is my garage, so it should be a great sale! Last year we had rain and still raised over $700. So get creative and get out there and lets take 1st place again!

It's gonna take a hard push for us to hit first place. We are losing a number of regulars due to a conflict that weekend. So, for those of us left.... let's get into gear and take it down again! For anyone wondering if they should come out and join us for the first time, the answer is YES! We always have a great time.

Ride has also changed it up a bit this year. There will be live bands on stage all afternoon. The bike games are always a blast. All the Demo rides are back. Want to try out a different bike to see if you like it. Here's the place to do it. Not to mention all the awesome food vendors that keep us stuffed all weekend long.

Can't make the event? How about throwing down a donation to the GTAM team to help keep them the reining champions of the online challenge! Click the link in my signature to go to our team page.

Alright everyone, its crunch time! We have less than a month until Ride for Sight and we're trailing in 3rd place. The good news is that the difference between 1st and 3rd is only about $1000, so we can easily catch up! So bug everyone you know, roll your pennies, attend Cutekill's bike wash or my yard sale, attend the band-a-thon, but most importantly, JOIN! We can do this but we need more riders to join the group.

Ride for Sight is always a ton of fun with lots of hijinx and crazy fun! It's worth the $75 minimum donation just to people watch, but there is so much to do at Ride for Sight. For starters, Honda, Yamaha and Harley will be there with a full fleet of bikes to demo, there are the bike games like bite the weenie, how slow can you go, and ring toss to name a few. There is a great line-up of bands both days with "Burning Brides" (a Rolling Stones cover band) headlining, vendor market place, lots of food vendors, beer garden, and not to mention the awesome parade on Saturday morning. This year the route starts near the Ride for Sight grounds and takes us on a scenic tour of the Orillia area! Riding with hundreds of like-minded riders with a full police escort (no stopping at lights) is an amazing experience!

Rember, above all, what happens at Ride for Sight, STAYS at Ride for Sight!

I had a call from the Foundation tonight, reminding me about the ride and time to donate. Seems they lost track of last year's donation, but wanted to remind me I've been at this since '96. I can't make it this year, but that doesn't mean my money stays home too. We're catching up folks (now second), but a long way to go to where we've been in the past.

Will miss you again this year. Thanks for still being a part of our team year after year! Hopefully we'll get to rider together again soon.

One week left, not too late to join the team or dontate:) Last year was my first time out and I have always wanted to do it from hearing all the stories from my brother that did it 3 years in a row almost 20 years ago when he used to ride. It is a lot of fun, camping, drinking, bike crazyness, bike games, demo's, huge ramp with stunt jumpers, live band the saturday night, and did I mention its fun.

My funds will be going up on the site Monday or Tuesday. Hoping to make high miler between what I have already raised, the bandathlon and the Sharp Rider Training Course. :)

Let's get this party started! WOOOHOOOO!!!

Got the last of my donations up online today. I just missed you Katapult! You beat me by $60! Team GTAM is in first place, but you never know what Meghan and her team have planned for the last minute! That young lady is a dynamo! So come on team and get your donations up online or join the team and help the cause!

Less than one week until Ride for Sight!

I hope when it's all said and done we reach our goal, i know total tallies wont be until all have done their online and cash donations .. i.e i had more cash this year not as much online so hopefully we reach or exceeed our goal !!! In any case once again i could not find the gtam site :-( still had a great time and met some real intersting people as per usual. I took a buddy for the first time and i think i have him hooked :)

We had a different site than last year. It was to the left of the karioke tent.

I we should have a gtam banner or something to make it easy to find the spot or load up a map of the park on here and have a star marking the area we are in.

Next year I'll bring my genny and a spotlight. We'll be obnoxious!

I was across from you guys in the site with the seven matching tents.

7 matching tents, awesome! I saw those tents and thought something was up.
It was great to meet you Paul. I spent more time than I should have had at the Karaoke tent.
Happy Birthday again Cutekill. I've never seen birthday banners strung across a motorcycle before.

My donations keep rising. People were slow on the update this year. I still did pretty well.

More obnoxious? Meme be careful what you ask for! Missed ya sweetie.
Cheers 8)

Usually have until October to get the final amounts in...may not hear the final until the fall.

Aminal - next year and we'll do something big.

The GTAM tent was with Paul this year at Grand Bend. Hopefully we'll have it next year for the campsite. ;)

lol Yes Meme, more abnoxious is a must. Especially being camped next to perverts row, which was awesome!!!

I noticed those tents and was so curious to see what they were like inside. lol
