WTBorrow a fork tool

Looking to borrow this tool, need to put back together my forks, and tighten up the inner rod, yes I can go and get the nuts and rod and so on, but hoping someone has one already and is willing to let me borrow it, I can even come to your place to tighten up the nut.....

Local to Mississauga is preferred

It's to tighten up a set of forks on a 1985 Yamaha FZ750, I unfortunately have forgotten the actual size, I think it's 19mm maybe 24mm ?

Boy oh boy......and I thought we were friends and now I find out you are begging perfect strangers for tools. And I have several of them just waiting t be used and gathering dust. What is the world coming to?
 
Ratchets with extensions do the same thing. Just be clever and use a piece of tape so they don't come apart. Has worked for me .
 
If I were you I'd go to the plumbing dept in Rona & make one. Might save you the aggrevation of coordinating time with someone plus the trip
 
Ohlins cartridges require a 17mm hex just like that. I use a hex socket and 2 long extensions. Instead of paying $150+ for the actual ohlins tool
 
17mm hex? Volkswagen gearbox drain plug tool on multiple ratchet extensions!
 
Well, not so good.......

Got the tool, from a mechanic at work, however it's not the right one, for some unknown reason I thought it was 19mm, this turns out to be wrong and it's too small the actual size required is actually 25mm, so I will have to see if he has a bigger one, and if not, it's off to the hardware store, find a couple of 25mm nuts and or 1 inch nuts, a threaded rod to put them onto and get them tightened up.....put them down the tube and tighten everything up.....should be done by tomorrow, I hope...

Alternatively metal supermarkets can cut you a hex rod if you cant find sockets that size. I couldn't find a 25mm and got these guys to cut me a 24" length for $15 and held it with my sockets.
 
Good now when I redo my forks I know where to get the tool if one of mine doesn't fit.
