Wrong Time on Speeding Ticket

Officer pulled me over for apparent speeding in my car this morning at about 9ish AM. Lowered the offence on the spot and told me I still have the three valid options that I must exercise in 15 days. I checked the ticket carefully and noticed they had put 9 PM instead of 9 AM. Is that small discrepancy in the AM vs PM enough to cancel the ticket?

Thanks.

Im not sure if it's enough on it's own to get it tossed or they might just amend it in court. Im sure others will chime in about that aspect.

Go out tonight and make a few purchases with debit or CC at 9pm. Better yet withdraw money from an ATM across town from where you got pulled over. Can't be in 2 places at the same time. It probably won't do you anything, but you only get one chance to do it.

It all comes down to the notes the officer took, if he wrote down in his own records that it was 9AM, that's enough for them to amend it in court.

If there's nothing at all on record stating it was 9AM, only 9PM and he has proof he was no where near that location at 9PM, well... probably enough to get the ticket tossed.

So should I just take it up to court and find out then whether the notes were taken by the officer?

the wrong time does not prejudice you, when you're arraigned for the charges; it will sound like this

"architect, you stand charged on or about the 13th day of August in the City of Toronto in the said region, did the commit the offence of speeding 70 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, section 128. To this charge, how do you plead - guilty or not guilty?"

as you can see w.r.t. the arraignment, the crown does not need to prove that you committed the offense at 9PM

regardless, file your tickets with your intent to go to trial; when you get your trial notice, through a disclosure request: get the officer's notes and a copy of the radar/lidar manual

Sounds like correctable error to me. A missing date would be a fatal error. An incorrect time can be corrected.
