Wrong DOB on my Insurance :(

So I bought my 2012 Cbr250r based on my insurance quote I received from my broker who uses JEVCO.
I went into their office I was given the insurance after all the paperwork was finished and I was so happy because she quoted me nearly $1300 a year so I quickly went to the honda dealership and bought myself a new motorcycle! Nearly a week later my insurance broker calls me to say that they put in the wrong information on my insurance! I received such a low rate because my broker placed the incorrect date of birth on the policy, she placed me in as a 1971 DOB when I was actually born in 1991... I have been with this broker for a couple years now for car insurance so its hard to understand they could input such a mistake.

After all that my broker told me they cannot insure me because I am only 20 years old and they insure 21 and up (I turn 21 in November).
So now the policy is null and I have no insurance on my bike so its just sitting in my garage

Absolutely their fault but there's not much you can other than pay the rate according to your real age or selling your bike.

Sometimes if you complain to your broker loud enough, they'll find a way to make exception to policy...

$1300 a year for someone born in 1972 on a 250...still a horrible rate

I think I paid right around $450 a year when I had a 250

Keep shopping around you'll find something.

This is no mistake, these are tactics brokers use to get ahead!

On three occasions brokers I've dealt with have ****ed up:

1) Gave me a quote which was $300 cheaper than anyone else and the reason... they flagged me as living in a rural area instead of the city.

2) Gave me a quote for a 600cc bike instead of a 1000cc.

3) Quoted me on a trail bike when I gave them the VIN for a competition MX bike and mentioned it was used in trails! I purchased the bike and receive a notice in the mail for the increase a month later.... ****ing statefarm....

Lesson: Get multiple quotes prior to purchasing the bike. If one quote is to good to be true, it usually is......
