ok, so found a great deal on a bike BUT apparently this person has moved overseas and selling at a reduced price as it's costing her. She asked for the deal to be done through ebay to protect both of us. My question is has anyone ever done a transaction like this before? what if the bike is damaged or not what is pictured? Here is the process she outlined:

I'm not good at explications but I will try to explain you how it will work from now on:
1)You will send me your full name and address.
2) I will contact eBay and open a case.
3)They will contact you with all transaction details,invoice
4) You will make the payment like is stated on invoice.
5) You will send the payment details at eBay.
6) They will contact me that the payment is OK.
7) I will send the bike to your address and send you the tracking number
8) After you will receive the bike and only if it is like I described you will contact eBay to release the payment details to me.
9) I will get my money and you will get your new bike .


now, this is a 2007 bike selling for VERY cheap...kind of raises some red flags for me.

any thoughts?

It's a scam!!! RUN AWAY! Never ever buy a bike that you can't see in person. WHY DID THEY LIST IT AS BEING IN "TORONTO" WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY TELL YOU IT'S IN "B.C." BUT THEY'LL SHIP IT!?

If you can't touch it with your fingers, it's a scam. RUN!

no , really i contacted a posting and when i was told the price of the bike and process it raised some red flags. just wanting to know if anyone has ever bought via ebay.... it's a 2007 ninja zx6r for $2550 !!!! seems to good to be true.
 
They will send you some very official looking emails complete with Ebay logos and seals etc.
They will also ask you to pay by Western Union or Money order, becuase they are having trouble with their PayPal account. They will even claim Ebay told them to do this.
Read Ebay's policies very closely - it will answer all your questions.
 
I have e-mailed 3 of these scammers just to **** with them.
I say "why don`t i just come to you and pay cash instead?"
They come up with an excuse and say the bike is somewhere else.
I say " well thats wild, I have family there. I`ll have someone come look at it and pay you cash."
They usually don`t respond after that. LOL

I like messing with them.
Then I send a message back ripping in to them.
I would love to get my hands on these people.

What "story" did they use? Son died in army? car wreck? plane crash?
 
There 06 / 07 ZX6r going for $5200 - 6000 which isnt bad. Send offers around and get something local / you can see, touch, ride?

Or you can give me the $2550 and I'll buy you a case of beer so you at least get something.
