I need to make one by thursday or else i would order one, but wondering how easy this would be to make? I have the exact same undertail as the pic, so that or similar would be great!

Dude, just get piece of L-aluminum bracket from Rona or crappy tire. Cut as needed

Take a piece of steel strip, cut to length, drill 2 holes correct distance apart for the license plate, take another piece, drill holes for whatever it's being bolted to (not visible in photo), weld it to the first in the right spot, grind flush, bend it to the right angle, paint, done.

Can't weld? make a cardboard template to get the shape right, take a piece of steel sheet, transfer your pattern onto it, cut it to the right shape, drill holes, bend, paint, done.

If you have a buddy or know a shop with a CNC plasma or laser cutter, it's even easier.

Lots of ways to get it done, depending on what technologies you have at your disposal.

If you have material make it yourself, or flebay it for a few $$.

I made up a custom little bracket in about 10mins from some aluminum angle

Ya the more I thought about it I think I can make one up pretty easy.
I don't have alot of cutting tools at my disposal, but a grinder and vice should be ok.
I will just cut out the shape I want from aluminum or steel. Rona should have it all right?

Also should I paint it with some tremclad metal paint?

I actually made one last night using a bracket from home depot. I spent $5 on screws and the bracket +$10 for a drill bit (the tool rental centre guy let me use his drill and hammer and didnt mind me working on it in there lol). I first checked out kahuna and saw they were charging $40 for a piece of metal which I refused to buy. It took me maybe 30mins of going to the bike, back to shop to fit, etc. Very easy. There was another thread in here about a guy on the cbr forum who cut his own out of sheet metal that looked really easy. Again, all the tools I used were a drill, hammer to bend bracket, and a screw driver. Eazy peezy

If you look hard enough, you wouldn't need to spend any money at all....

eg: old cpu cases already have 90" angle sheet metal, look into them and you will bays, those are nify things to use...and all from scrap!
