What are your guys thoughts ?
Just watching the first game against Germany.
I watched the prelims, and they were horrible. I hope I eat my words, but I don't think it's their year.

I look forward to the world's every year, best hockey around. Usually in optimistic about our chances, but I don't see them getting a medal this year. Like the last few years, goaltenders are the weak link.
Still going to enjoy it

I agree with goaltending. You see what they did this year.... They just picked their 2 goalies during tryouts. So they were "rested". Yet this way they aren't fighting for a job, and trying to work themselves onto the team. Interesting move.

There really isn't a lot of talented Canadian goalies right now. We have tons of talent up front. McDavid, Reinhart, Drouin, ect.

I see them getting a metal. But I'm sure it won't be gold, probably not silver.
6-2 rite now. But it's Germany. I believe we are 12-0 all time against them. So doesn't say much

If they stay aggressive and use the body they will be ok. Also stop being so damn sloppy in the neutral zone. Not so much this morning. But in previous games.
Amazing to see how many cages their are. Goes to show in years to come how well it could be

Today's been well played, but it is Germany. We'll see how they play against the better teams.

I'll take that game. What a great performance. I really did feel they were going to pull a leafs and blow it all at the end.
Only difference is canada shoots on net where leafs don't!

USA out is quite a shock :eek:, but I don't think it can be considered an upset?

I guess this is what happens when other games outcomes end up having you face a top 4 in the qtr's

Wow that's incredible. I had them picked for silver. Sweden with gold and Russia bronze. We'll see how the rest plays out.

That was a sorry excuse for a hockey game. Horrible bounce off the boards. Couldn't believe it. I forgot the international refs wear tampons.
Tripping as the goalie was making a breakaway save at the top of his blue?

Disappointing game today, but considering overall expectations were pretty low for the tourney, playing for bronze tomorrow isn't really off base. Finns simply played better. The CDN kids did get some cheap calls, but they never played to the same level. Should be interesting to see what secondary discipline happens to the Swedish and Russian rosters for tomorrows games

Yes that was an interesting end to the game. Luckily the Swedish player didn't leave the box early.
Reaction of the Swedish coach said it all. Think he thought he was about to lose a whole line in the gold medal game. !
