So was riding home from work and as usual got off at my Salem exit( it was around 6pm), so I see all these newer cars parked on the off ramp shoulder... im like Wtf is this? Then As i ride down further I see 4 cops/swat in shorts and t shirts with there police vests on and carrying some big *** rifles/ak lookin guns back to there unmarked regular cars. 2 new pickups, a new minivan and a new toyota car.
Have no idea what happened as there was nothing there, and I didnt see anything on the news.
Pretty crazy though with the guns! Did get a peek at what vehicles could be out there though in terms of cops. lol

yeah, it's always quite the sight to see the etf gearing up. . .saw the same thing on the bridge on bayview, just north of lawrence, earlier this spring--a patrol car, a black suv, and a van--forgot how many guys, but they all had vests/armour, helmets, and machine guns. never did find out what went down. probably storming a drug house in the area?

Last year in February was driving along and 2 blacked out SUV's zoomed by, up ahead 6 in total surrounded this shady looking pick-up truck from the sides and the front. Police jumped out fully loaded from all the SUV's and pointed their guns at the pick-up. Pulled out a black driver (Bob Marley look-a-like) and a white passenger full sleeve tattoos and around his neck. Guys wearing a under shirt in the winter? Scary looking bad *** mofos.

Anyway, almost s''' my self, but they were probably armed and dangerous. Drugs most likely.

One time, I was catching a late night movie and having a few drinks at a buddy's place overseas.. All of a sudden, loud noises from the doors, a bunch of armed/armored guys bust into the house, throw us down on the floor, cuff us, give us a few whacks and then one comes in from the outside and whispers something to the guy in charge.. He orders for us to be uncuffed and says "sorry boys, wrong house." Mistakes happen and they don't appear in the news

A drug house at Bayview/Lawrence?

A drug house at Bayview/Lawrence?

yeah, that's what i thought, but i'm giving them credit that they wouldn't gear up around the corner from their target, and were probably 5-10 minutes out from their actual target location.

that being said, i live in a very nice, respectable, upper-middle class suburban neighbourhood and a grow op was discovered around the corner from me. . .

At the plaza north of finch on pharmacy, I saw what looked like a whole bunch of cargo vans and normal looking pickup trucks full of the ETF boys. Next day on the news, they mentioned a grow up busted. I think they just give it all they have got when they respond to almost anything that may include drugs or weapons. Which makes me wonder, what does the regular police do exactly? Aside from the cleanup afterwards.

what if someone got shot then they realize they got the wrong house?

Happened in former Yugoslavia.. Used to live in a neighborhood with a pretty high number of middle management types employed in organized crime, but the intervention unit is known for heavy-handed tactics. Once they almost arrested me and gave me a few beatdowns (usually they'd give you one in the van, one in front of the station, one inside the station and one when they let you out) for not having ID on me even though I was still underage and wasn't required to have one.

Where/when that happened, the state media would have declared that a dangerous criminal died in a shootout with the police. At the time, the regime in power was a bit dictatorially inclined

Traffic enforcement! Where do think they get the money to buy the shiny black SUV's and the big guns?
