Hey all im having a lot of difficulty with my gr650s wiring. so i have the wiring harness all hooked up and the only things that are not connected are the back lights,and front lights. so when I have my gas tank on the bike (not bolted on just resting) the neutral, side stand and oil light come on, but when i click the starter button the starter motor just simply makes a winding or spinning noise. when i take the tank off none of these lights turn on and clicking the starter button does nothing. now when the tank has been placed on the bike i have jiggled it around and clicked the starter button. this has resulted in the bike starting to turn over but has melted wires in the wiring harness. (black and white wire which seem to be a power wire). ive noticed that the only reason these lights turn on is the pet cock valve/ the metal covering over the rubber tube from the pet cock valve to the carburetor. it seems to me that there is a ground missing on the bike somewhere. does anyone have any ideas and will posting pictures help at all?
