Wireless earbuds

Hey, does anyone ride with wireless earbuds inside their helmets? How do you like it? I have my sena smh10 from my last helmet but I don't like bulkyness. Earbuds would completely eliminate that.

I know it's not exactly what you asked, but I got Shure's se215 after a few folks on this forum recommended them. They're wired and work wonderfully. I bought the cable with mic/music controls, which makes it even better. I can skip tracks, change the volume, take calls etc without stopping. Even though the mic hangs outside my helmet, I'm still able to take calls inside the city. Of course on the highway it doesn't work well, but music still does.

I also do not want a Sena, because of the additional weight.

I've tried many ways to get my in helmet audio "system" perfected....
For the last while I've been using wired in helmet speakers... They fit nicely into my Shoei GT Air. I connect them to a retired smart phone I use as a music player.
The speakers are "okay", but the competition from wind noise reduces the audio experience. What I want is a concert hall in my helmet.
I've recently decided to go back to earbuds... (Mee M6 Pro). The only hurdle is keeping them in place while donning the helmet. The M6 Pro's have the bendy wires that you hook over/behind your ear... The routinely get F**** up when putting on my lid.
I can avoid this by wearing a beany on my bald skull and tucking my ears under it, but... C'mon.... a mesh beany every time I wanna rock&ride..?

To control volume/track selection/play/pause I bought a "Chubby Buttons" Bluetooth thingy Home - Chubby Buttons
Strap it to my forearm and it works great.

Have you used that in the rain? Says it's water resistant, but I'm wondering how well. I like it!

Why does it have to be wireless?

Most of the wireless earbuds have bulky bodies which will press against your ears inside a helmet and be really uncomfortable.

I've used wired earbuds, and if you need to pair it via Bluetooth to an MP3 player or GPS, then you can buy a mini-BT receiver. Something like this:

And just tuck in your pocket. The wire coming from your helmet to a receiver in your pocket is hardly noticeable.

Ive used something similar. Fits under the helmet well. These things have really low power transmission so the helmet combined with your hand on your pocket (covering your phone) can cause the music to cut out a little but it works fine. Playback time is limited though, usually 2 hours max.

That being said, mine are a bit older bluetooth 4.0 model. Maybe theyve improved a bit over the past year.
