What about a Fly screen? That would be a better fit would it not?
I have a fly screen on the bike now specific to the bike. While it helps...it doesn't help a lot at speed.

The Chinesium windshield is my 'fix' while I decide what to do. For $45 I'm ok with that. Will install today and hopefully find some time on the weekend to go for a boot to test it out.

TIP: run a strip of electrical tape around your bars before clamping the shield bars on. The bare clamps, even with the gaskets, will leave marks on your bars.

Fit like a champ. Some minor inconveniences (no rubber spacers so made some from spare I had nearby).

So many adjustments on the deflector I don’t know where to start….or what half of them do.

I dumped the lip, nothing but vibration and whistling.

Had one on the Vstrom, and another on my FJR - couldn’t dial in either one.

Will give it a whirl and then decide. Guy wanted $40 for the main screen….$45 for the pieces together…

So….as @Mad Mike mentioned earlier the windshield is good, but wobbles like a wet noodle at speed. I’m trying to figure out a way to make it more stable.

Currently it has 2 mounting points…

BUT….i have mounting arms that I got from a cheapo Amazon windshield where the vendor never asked for it back. The bracket is a bit off, but I can file it to make more space and it would fit.

Considering removing the mount brackets and mounting it into the ones in my hand.

Thoughts?

I’d remove the Lanmar lip to see if that makes a difference. I had one on my vstrom, took it off and it never went back on.

I’d also check to see whether the windscreen forces all the wind to hit it directly.

Sometimes addition of spacers will allow some wind to slip under the screen and reduce the overall pressure the screen sees. This may also help reduce buffering and wind noise depending on the rider’s height relative to the screen, as it may reduce the amount of dirty air presented at the rider’s head.

Another solution that can work is cutting some slots into the screen. Same idea.
