windshield chip fix

Years ago I had one of these done at a specialist place and it wasn't very good, you could still see the chip. Right now I have a tiny chip in my windshield that I wish I could ignore but it's dead centre and catches the light enough to distract me. Can they fix this invisibly these days or should I just learn to ignore it? Is there one fix that's better than another?
 
The repair helps but rarely makes the problem disappear completely, it will reduce the opportunity for the chip to turn into a full blown crack, and the repair people will probably not recommend repair if the chip is directly in front of the drivers normal area of view.
 
I just had a chip repair done last week. Different "juice" goes in the crack than 20yrs ago, but the results are still the same.....there's a mark left when it's finished.
"Q"? Why do 99% of rock chips happen in our line of sight?
I don't remember a chip on the passenger side.......ever!
