Really diminishes the value of that whole thing, right there... wouldn't be surprised to see a few past winners return their prizes if he actually goes any further than nomination before that dies on the vine.

Like the honorary doctorates that schools hand out to famous or rich people. It's quite the slap in the face that those that worked hard for years to get a similar piece of paper. Just call them a friend of the school or something similar, leave PhD out of it.
 
Some of them should return theirs regardless of whether or not he wins.
