Will State Farm insure American bike???

Give them a call and find out.

I would assume if you register it and it is garaged in Ontario they sould be fine with it.

As long as you properly follow the RIV importation process and register the bike for the road here then it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the reply.

I will be giving them a call on Monday and the bike is being sold by a dealership

Yes, its already been imported, paper work done and the used bike dealership is in Toronto.

Brought my bike back from California and had it insured by State Farm once the bike is registered in Canada it does not matter as to get it register means the duties were paid and then bike is on the RIV list of approved list. May I ask what model as I traded in my US bike for my current bike.

Okay not mine you should have no issues insuring the bike once it has been registered in ontario

This.
My bike was originally purchased from the States.
The previous owner registered it in ON and I had no problems insuring it with SF.

Why would anyone have a problem insuring a bike, which was properly imported?? The only time I've seen people having trouble getting insurance is bikes imported from Japan, because their VIN numbers are shorter, and that problem is solvable too.

I can attest to this. I used to drive a japanes domestic market VT250FE and it was insured by statefarm and still is to this day.
