Will moving after a rate hike mean I have to pay the difference to the new rate?

I may be moving to a different postal code soon, and fearing for insurance costs (actually, hoping it'd go down, since I'd be moving to a less densely populated area), I ran some quotes. Im currently with Nordic (facility) through john duffy, and I pay just under 3000/year, lump sum. It seems, that at all potential postal codes (and my current postal code) with everything else the same, the rates have gone up about $2000/year. Now, assuming this isn't a mistake, if I make any changes to my policy (moving), will I have to pay the difference, or am I grandfathered to the old rating? It would be rather ridiculous to have to pay a difference, the 2 postal codes are rated the same (premiums are higher, but the same, so presumably had I bought at the new address 2 months ago, it would have ben just under $3000).

tl;dr Rates went up across the board. If I move, will I have to pay the difference between the old rate and the new one, even if the postal code 'risk rating' is the same??

Bump? To simplify things, imagine moving across the street (postal codes will usually bump but 1 digit on the other side of the street, eg L9C 1P4 vs L9C 1P5). You tell your insurance company about the move, but rates have gone up in L9C. Do you have to pay the difference, even though you paid for x coverage at y risk already?

Why not call your insurer and say you are thinking of moving, what will the rate be there, and if less or same don't worry about it, if it is higher - just ask if you have to pay difference if you do move.

I dunno...When we moved My insurance stayed the same but my Son had a significant decrease, my Daughter had an increase, and my Wife had a slight decrease???? All different companies...
