so last season was my first and through my dad being an engineer i believed i got a sweet deal, before u ask, no i wasnt a secondary rider or anything like that, i am the owner, and only insured on my ninja 250 and i am 20 years old now.
what im wondering is why would i want to stay with MM now that i understand its only 8 month insurance? i never got my renewel in the mail allthough they claim to have sent it, my rate has gone up and i expect its because since i have that insurance for 8 months it has not been an entire year since i got my m2. i did the online quote and made it as if i had my m2 for a year and the quote worked out to $1650, but now i realize thats only covering 8 months, that the same money as getting a quote for 2400 and being able to ride 12 months of the year, i have called around and it looks like jevco is my best option for $2100, including fire and theft. im wondering if im missing something here? why do people go with MM for 8 months coverage when u can get similar rates and be covered for the whole year?

I believe they have an option for the 8month or the 12 month.

99% of people don't ride 12 months out of the year as well, I highly doubt next winter will be the same as this one.

Last year was 8 mo because you started later than march this year is 12 mo
all renewals are done at the same time in march. You only pay for 8 mo but the insurance is for 12.

Are you sure about that? Meloche Monnex charges me 7 payments every year, that covers 12 months insurance on the bike. They never lost any of my insurance renewals (car, house and bike), and this year my insurance is about half of last year on the bike, so I am generally "happy", since it finally became affordable ($1250-ish on 600cc).

for TD MM you're covered for one year. they just make you pay everything in 7 or 8 payments.

when i called yesterday the guy told me that i was covered for riding 8 months and then i had 4 months where the bike was supposed to sit for winter, but somehow i started my renewel right after that 8 months of riding ended. since it didnt actually cover the entire 12 months, now i havent been m2 licenced for a year so my renewel is as if im on my first year all over again. unless i can convice them to give me my quote as its april now otherwise this past year doesnt seem to count for anything. im hoping to get a different guy when i call tomorrow, someone who speaks better english so i can understand better cuz while i was talking i was also getting frustrated from not understanding him well.

wait i guess it was 10months they covered me for riding and 2 that the bike was supposed to just sit, but the renewel kicked in the day after the 10months of riding was up.

yeah i think thats pretty much what it is but as long as the pink slip im holding to has an expiry date that hasnt passed and the weather permits me to ride . . . good to go.

ok so i talked to a lovely lady on the phone, eveyrthings been cleared up. she hooked me up and bumped me a month early, she gave me the quote for having my m2 for an entire year which would only happen at the end of april. she just completely hooked me up. also she explained how no matter when u start a policy, with them it runs until february. everything makes sense now.
$1374 for the year. wish i remembered her name so i could speak with her and promote her.

i guess u can delete this thread.
