So I just got off the phone with my guy at apex, was thinking about buying a certain model and was wondering if they have it in stock, he said nope.
I asked if they can place an order for it...he checks something in the computer to see when/if they will be shipping it...
comes back and says they wont be shipping that model(multistrada V4 base model)...and I cant place on order for it either...

He proceeds to explain that they cant actually tell ducati what models they want shipped, essentially telling me "what you get is what you get"

Ah yes the old automotive base price/lease ad in the newspaper trick. Then you call or go to the dealership and they upsell you because that car never existed. Can you order the V4 S?

Its been like that for a while with Ducati, parts to build certain models, production reductions.
I know its old news but this COVID business is catching up with the world, dont run a factory for 4 months and wonder why your behind??

Call Rolex and ask to be on the waiting list for a Submariner watch, they wont even take your name down.

Supply of global brands with parts coming from all over , will be a gong show for the next two years. sorry

This is going to be a problem with everything. GP told me they don't know when they will be getting in the 1100 Rebel or how many they will get. New bikes are selling like crazy because nobody knows what will be available, or if we go into another lock down.
I watched on CTV when they said how long people are waiting for appliances, like fridges and stoves, sometimes 4 to 6 months.
I'm going to buy more toilet paper tonight. lol

Ah Apex....
I’ve had Aprilia parts on order with them since February of last year. Last I heard was “don’t worry, we’ll call you when they get in”.....lol

They dont even sell aprilias?

You want the "S" model. The Skyhook suspension is excellent and being able to change it on the fly in seconds is something you'll not want to be without once you have it. Plus it gets you Cruise which can come in handy.

I wonder if the S has radar cruise control and the base only has the regular one?

I see this as pretty entertaining @bigpoppa, two years ago? you were kicking Ducati, Ducati owners, the Ducatista with almost all the distain and fervor usually held out for Harleys here, and yet here you are bemoaning how hard it may be to join the club. The circle of life....
I like to flip flop, maybe I should run for office.

I can assure you however, we're strictly a no HD household.

And years ago I swore I’d never own an Italian bike or a minivan and that a house would be the most expensive thing I’d ever buy, yet here we are.
People change, things change, new information comes along.
The circle of life....
