Who is excited about the new upcoming riding season?

That had to be a new rider... as unfortunate as that incident would've been, the rider had quite a bit of time to react. Not to mention the fact there was no reason for them to be in the oncoming lane to begin with, especially around what may have been a blind corner to them. I'd say it's odd the truck driver didn't try to avoid him, but was probably thinking the same thing, the bike should've been able to easily avoid the accident, where the truck likely would have wound up on its side in the grass.

And yup. Still excited. Not that I really ever stopped since last season anyway.. :p

I'm excited just took delivery of a new Triumph Spring GT and can't wait to ride it.

EXTREMELY!! Getting my new R1...finally a bike to get me from Point A to Point B without having to push it to a gas station and look up towing services on Kijiji! LOL

I'm fired up. I put a new set of pazo shifters on my Hayabusa and I had a lead on some affordable insurance. I might just be on the road this year after all

seriously reza what you trying to accomplish by posting that crap

Its not as easy as your making it seem, when you start running wide at high speed you tend stand the bike up and run off the road/track. Its very hard to correct it and tighten up your corner..

If you watch the video closely he was running wide in that turn from the start, and like I said ends up running more wide. Also when he saw the truck he most like does what 99% of people will do in that situation, panic and stand the bike up, which makes you run even wider...

Also you have no idea what the rider experienced before he came into focus on the video, he could have hit some bad pavement or swerved to avoid something causing him to run wide...You just dont know

This is the reality of motorcycling.

Granted, the title of the thread is in poor taste in relation to the video being displayed, however,

To those who are chastising the OP, are you guys always going to bury your head in the sand?

I like Nutella

Quick death. Wouldn't want it any other way. Bring on summer!

Thinking about it now, you're absolutely right. It's easy to try and analyze something in a video and get it wrong if you weren't there. I'd still argue that excessive speed possibly vs the rider's capabilities was likely a factor in the rider's crash, but everyone has their own preference/style of riding, and though I'm sure he didn't intend to have this happen, the rider made the choice to ride as he did.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but when you ride hard, this is the very real chance you take. It's unfortunate that so many riders get hurt/killed every year as a result of that, either direct or indirect. This is my 3rd season riding personally, and I consider myself lucky that the only accidents I've had, have been minor and at low/no-speed drops. I've had enough close calls at high speeds now to know not to get cocky anymore, just isn't worth it.

I think I understand now why the OP posted this video. It's a wake-up call, one that most riders aren't nearly willing to admit to.
