Ive never gotten insurance for out of province coverage but I have for out of country. Seems only ambulance care isn't covered but I may be wrong.

I'm not sure you need extra insurance if traveling within Canada. Your employer benefits should cover you across Canada, and other provinces bill OHIP if you require medical care. E.g., I lived in NL for 4 years and never needed an MCP card, they billed OHIP.
