Where to buy Large mtric hex sockets

You know, the kind for removing the front axle on many sport bikes?

I think I need a 15mm, 17mm and 19mm so they'll probably be 1/2" drive, but I don't know where to look for them.

PA / Crappy Tire or any TOOL place

CT doesn't have these sizes, at least the ones here in K/W don't

do you have access to a welder? Weld two nuts/bolts together.....

Or I dear somewhere Home Depot has some bigger "jointers" that you could use as well. (they are used to put together threaded rod)
^Hope thats clear.

I had to make a 17 and a 22 for my Kawi, and I welded nuts together, worked great, and cheap.

CT will sometimes have impact hex socket sets (half SAE and half Metric). No "normal" sets from what I can remember. Brafasco and Napa also list quite a range of hex wrenches. I can't remember if they sold sockets though. 17 and 19 are real bugbears to get a hold of.

The bolt + two nuts works fine. Tighten the nuts against each other with Loctite and you've got a cheap hex head. I did just that to get the 17mm hex fork caps off the Burgman (M12 bolts, but check the head size before you buy--some brands seem to have different sized heads) . Fits perfectly.

Ah cool, I think I'll get the set from PA. Thanks guys.

Get the HEX kit from a bike shop, it will work for the majority of modern day bikes, PA and CTire kits don't have all the required sizes.

When I was faced with this dilemma, I just went to Rona and get a "coupling nut"

I probably spent 60c for it, lol. Just attach to a ratchet and you're gold. I attached it to my impact wrench, took the blows.

yo rocky, you are giving away trade secrets, the best tip for the price.

I hope to share so that when I need help someone would return the favour. I'll try to hog it all to myself, Stewie

Clever & cheap! Nice. We need a sticky for that kind of stuff.
