where to buy gear?

Vest? Useless poser crap.

Go to Riders Choice in the west end or GP Bikes in the east. They both carry a wide range of gear and upper end stuff.

My favorites in no particular order are:

Royal Distributing (biggest selection, fair prices, good customer service)
GP Bikes (Big selection, higher quality gear, high premium, great customer service)
Kahuna Powersports (Decent selection, comparable prices, great customer service,)

you might also want to check out Cycle World (big selection, high prices)

Good luck!

The default choices (a.k.a. the "big" players), if you live in the GTA and have an afternoon to waste, in no particular order are:

1. GP Bikes (Whitby)
2. Royal Distributing (Whitby)
3. Kahuna (Toronto)
4. Riders Choice (Toronto)
5. Parker Bros (Toronto)

Now, there are other places further west and/or north that have positive reviews and lots of happy customers (e.g. Blue Streak Racing), but if you're in the GTA, it's completely up to you if you want to go out to see them.

How about right here on our forum? There are some great deals on new/used gear.

Vest? How about this one? Snapped a pic of it at GP Bikes last weekend. Even comes with a neat, clear velcro pocket to hold your organ donor card.

Ok, seriously though. I recommend Rider's Choice and GP Bikes. But if you already know the gear you want, and you've already tried it all on for fitment, you could always order online at perhaps, www.sportbiketrackgear.com

ROFL holy crap that vest is real! And it says milspec on it !!!!! Fook me.

What sort of milspec is that? Is it from the Battalion of Prostitutes?

GP Bikes has good selection and very competitive prices and doesn't sell junk.

Several online stores offer very good prices, amazing selection and good shipping. I'm fond of Motorcycle Track Gear and Revzilla and Blue Streak Racing (more limited selection but they're Canadian).

canadasmotorcycle.com (canadian verison of motorcycle-superstore.com) is also a good place to buy. they have a great exchange policy for sizing returns

If you want to go the online route, my preferences are as follows (no particular order):

1. motorcyclegear.com
2. canadasmotorcycle.ca
3. ridersdiscount.com
4. solomotoparts.com
5. motomummy.com

I've done business with all of the above, never had a complaint with any of them (and no one on the gixxer.com forums have ever had any negative things to say).

With regards to STG (a.k.a. sportbiketrackgear.com), my only issue with them is/was their standard price for shipping to Canada (they tack on a fixed dollar value) - 9 times out of 10 that makes them more expensive than the 5 I listed above (however, like the previous 5, no one has ever had a bad thing to say about Jason or Bryan).

If you want the gamut of online retailers who have some traction, then my final offering is motorcycle-superstore.com; I've never done business with them, don't know anyone who has, and quite frankly I only use them for the pictures...

Again, you could also use Blue Streak Racing (they have an online presence as well; and between them and Canadasmotorcycle.ca, you may be able to keep it "local").

Good luck.
