Where do you service your motorcycle?

Hey all,

With the riding season on the verge of beginning, and with the gradual decline of licensed Kawasaki dealers in the GTA, where do you go for your servicing needs? 1,000 km, 5,000 km, 10,000 km, or whatever other servicing that needs to be done!

I personally used Kahuna Powersports when they were opened for my 1,000km service for my motorcycle, but now that they're closed, I don't know of any other ones around the area (other than the ones up north).

Thanks!

Follow the manual, personally i only go to a mechanic for the big things. Oil changes, chain adjustments, lubing the chain, and most maintenance at less than 5k/6k intervals you are able to do on your own with the glorious help of youtube and/or google in addition to GTAM.

I also dont use a dealer, backyard mechanics are where its at. Frekey guy is the only guy whis touched my bikes. Honest, knowledable, and fairly priced. What i adore him for in that exact order.

I used to go to Kahuna also for the work that was beyond my capabilities. I'm looking into getting some service done at Corsa Meccanica on Steels between Keele and Dufferin. Another member on the site mentioned they have taken some of the business that went to kakuna.

Speedworx for larger jobs and/or parts for the track bike. Motorsports Pickering for parts on the street bikes. For routine servicing, I do it myself.

Routine service and maintenance? visitor parking, between 2am-3am
Anything bigger or more involved? Z1 cycletech (if you're in the West end), GP Bikes (in the East)

Some people don't like them, but I always had pleasant experiences with Snow City on Kennedy/Ellesmere in Scarborough. Talk to Scott.

My garage.

Ive taken my bike to Rosey Toes for a couple things. Jane and Wilson. Had good experiences.

Speedworx is also a great one in Markham.

The backyard mechanic idea is a good one too. I have a couple mechanic friends who help/teach me when theyre available with bigger things. Best to learn yourself if you can. But sometimes u just need to take it to the shop.

I've more or less moved to Speedworx now. Used to be GP Bikes but the Speedworx hourly rate is (noticeably) less and their work has been good for me.

I *might* consider the new Ducati shop on Steeles since it'd be the most accessible for me though.

I know Daytona Motor Sport does service. I took my bike in before then end of the season last year and they did a great job!

They are literally across the street from where Kahuna was before they closed down. You can give them a call or just stop by! Very helpful people there.

109 Cycle. Haven't had to do any extensive work, but the work that they have done has been great. Nice people.

I do my own regular maintenance. I used to go to 109, but when they started quoting crazy prices just to change up tires, I switched to Speedworx. Which is big since I'm almost walkable distance from 109. Fawaz at Speedworx has definitely gone 1 step beyond for me. Scott at Snow City is good too, but you are still dealing with a dealership.

Speedworx. And it's easy to get to if you ever have to leave your bike there. GO train or bus drops you off near Markville Mall and it's a short walk to the garage.

GP Bikes in Whitby is good, they are replacing my tires next week. Brampton Powersports is good, they did the safety on my bike and a couple of friends bikes and also a bit of work for me before. Also Two Wheels in Guelph on Hwy 6 just north of Guelph. They just replaced a tire, a rectifier, plugs, battery, cleaned the carbs and freed up the choke on my buddy's bike this week. They had good pricing and the guys were really good to deal with. For most of the small stuff, the buddies and I usually do it in my garage.

Hope we these suggestions help.

Another vote for "my garage". Took my wheels for new tires to Clarington Cycle.

Chain lube, chain tightening/slacking, oil/oil filter I'll do myself. Anything else goes to Speedworx.
