Where did you get your HIDs from?

Dont get HID 8k.
I used to have them on my car and... I hated them.
Visibility is actually worse, you can see all the street signs lite up from far away but the road surface is darker. It looks like ricer boy. And truck drivers flicked their spot lights at me Prlly because I was blinding the hell out of them LOL.

@TopicStarter BKMoto is the way to go. Send them your headlight ballast and they'll install it for you so no worrying about breaking the tabs.

@RavenSix In reference to the cars, the HID/Projectors that are direct plug and play or are retro fitted aren't angled properly so the level is shot directly ahead instead of angled at the road, which is why you were having those problems.

My buddy told me the BKmoto projectors are complete **** and not worth buying. Do the work yourself and use a kit from http://www.theretrofitsource.com/

Yah, Retrofitsource is the way to go if you are capable of retro-ing it your self.

My car had plug n play and they were garbage.

I bought a Morimoto kit for my car, but I don't have a spare headlight set in case I fudged up. So I did not do it my self and sold the kit LOL.

Did your buddy have projector kit or just the HIDs? HID setup is made specifically for projector lights and regular ballast leads to hazing and damage to plastic backing of the ballast.

I've also read on R6 forums that they retrofit Infiniti FX35/45 Projectors with lots of nice pics. ;D

They are good for the price ($30 shipped) but they are garbage for light output. The ballasts are the DC model which are very low quality, You want to find a good set of AC ballasts from retrofit source or morimoto.
They work great in my foglights, but as headlights they suck compared to other brands

Near dufferin and finch, very knowledgeable, local and very good prices.

6K Max i would say. The lighting is great.

Get projectors. Putting HID in a reflector is just stupid and blinding to oncoming traffic.

Also - not to start a thing here.... but get projectors. Putting HID in a reflector is just stupid and blinding to oncoming traffic.

Also, remember that projectors on a motorcycle will decrease visibility in the corners as the cutoff of the projectors will work against you when you lean into the corner ;)

Yes yes but lets be real we aren't riding in pitch black, most of us are in the city and just putting HID's in to be posers.

Thank you.

Blinding oncoming traffic isn't wise. (hell, even blinding cars from behind is dangerous for you, the rider).

For some reason, people (both drivers and riders) got into their heads that spending 100 bux on HID's was the best upgrade ever. 99% of installations are **** and worse for overall visibility.

If aimed properly HIDs in stock housings don't blind others. Where's that beating a dead horse emoticon when you need it....

Some of us are who live outside the big stink. I had hids on my last bike and they're going on this one too. Set up properly they didn't blind anyone but out on the back roads home late at nice I could easily see 50% further down the road with high beams on. I had several people I know test it with me and not on said my lows were blinding at all.
