Where can I go practice?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to find a place to practice(emergency breaking, slow speed maneuvers, push steering, etc.) for a while, as this is gonna be my second time riding. :DDo you guys know of any big parking lots or big open spaces near downtown Toronto that would be accessible this Sunday? You're welcome to come too! :)

Thanks!

Dufferin mall parking lot out the back or underground.
If during open hours go around the back of the beer store and there is lots of empty space.

Although I dont know how clean the lot will be.

TOO MUCH CRAP ON THE ROADS FOR EITHER OF THOSE!!! Just my $.02...be careful.

I would assume the same but maybe the underground would be better.

I haven't been so I don't know.

When I had to practice I found a local school yard. Totally empty on weekends.

Underground lots can be oily.

Just sayin'.

how about the loblaws by L&L? or the soccer field parking lot by cherry beach it has a U turn to practice your lean (if you know what i'm talking about. this will most likely be empty)

Ooooh exhibition grounds sounds perfect! That place is huge! I just hope I don't get kicked out by security haha. Cherry beach also sounds promising, but I'm sure the lot will be full for a Sunday soccer games. It's gonna be 11C! :D

Last time i checked there weas still snow on the fields when there wasn't any snow around dt

I would recommend an industrial site such as the one near Matheson/Orbitor here by centennial park. It has turns, stop signs, parking lots, traffic lights and zero traffic on weekends.

Id it'd say it simulates a real road better than a lot. Just be careful as there will be lots of sand and salt. Sherway lot still has snow that was piled up.

The Ontario Place parking lot would probably be best. Cause CNE usually has a bunch of events going on weekends, so there will be a lot of thru traffic on the BMO Field grounds.

Wherever you go. First do a walk-around over the lot, check for sands, oil, ice etc. Then have a fun practicing.

Not downtown, but I went to the Humber College parking lot the weekend after I finished my riding course. Nobody was there as it was a holiday. All of the lines from the course are painted on the ground.

Local Strip club parking lot before the seafood buffet opens!

Last summer the school across the street from my house was torn down and a new one built. The new one includes a driveway up the side, then a big circular drive with two lanes (one for buses, one for cars). There are gates at the entry to the circle - it's like a ginormous keyhole....but more importantly, it's fresh asphalt. Last fall I used it for practicing gymkhana type stuff on the CBR and playing on the new scooter, then last weekend used it for blasting out the cobwebs....and then more gymkhana type moves. Working on the U-turn - instant full-lock turn from a stop.
