Anyone have experience which dealer to go to ? please dont suggest snow city. Was there ready to buy the versys they have on sale. Sale staff was too busy and said would call me back. Waited a week... nothing . Went back in he didnt even remember he said he was going to call. I guess was a good thing since I think the vstrom is probably better anyways.

that place was the worst for service also.

agree... do not go to snow city, terrible service from both the sales floor, parts department and service.

First of all, if you want a versys, get a versys. Storm is only marginally better for off road ( not a huge strength for either bike), but the versys beats it in every other way. If you don't mind the drive, Niagara race crafters deserves your business. Good for you for not giving money to people who don't. Used v's tend to go for very good prices as well.

I shopped around and the best price I got was $8495 +HST from Suzuki of Newmarket. So I took that price to Ready Suzuki (much closer to me) and they matched it.

While I agree with Gsus in that if you want a Versys, get one, I do not agree that the Versys beats the Vstrom in every category.

Just google Versys vs Vstrom and you will get a tonne of comparisons: They both have about the same HP with the Versys having slightly more torque. The Vstrom is larger, roomier, and more comfortable while the Versys is more sporty. The Vstrom gets better mileage. The Vstrom has a lot more farkle options. The Vstrom has a 19" front wheel vs a 17" wheel so many more tire options.

I was seriously considering both bikes but in the end I chose the Vstrom because I want to do long tours in comfort with a long range (large tank and good fuel mileage) with lots of options for luggage/luggage racks, skid plates, engine guards, etc, as well as ease to find parts and accessories.

I bought mine from Brampton Powersports and it was a pretty painless exercise.
At the time, they had the best price and were close by. There were others that were slightly cheaper, but much further away.

And for the same reasons I want a V-strom as well. Speed / Sportiness is lower on my priority list than what you have mentioned. Which model did you get for $8499? was it the SE or exp?
