Where can I buy tire warmers locally?

John Bickle. (bickle racing)

yes you need a generator.

and what should I look for when buying one? Do I need to buy a generator to power the tire warmer as well? thanks!

Well where's 'locally' for you?

You'll hear a lot of people say Bickle, and I'm going to also. Very happy with my Bickle warmers.

As for generators, the only thing I'll say is don't cheap out. Every track day I go to I see at least one rider struggling with a "less expensive" generator, and it makes me glad I went for a Honda. Yamaha makes nice generators too.

another vote for bickle, when you need them fixed and youre at a race weekend he will do em. and yeah don't cheap out on a generator. Bought a 250 dollar hyundai the first time, worked for a year then crapped out at round 1 this season (being fixed under warranty) bought a 2500 watt briggs and stratton after that and it's sooooo much better(but loud)

I have Woodcraft dual-temp warmers and i've been very happy with them.

My generator is a Hyundai HY2000. Other than some teething pains that were fixed under warranty, it has worked very well for me. If you can't afford a Yamaha EF or Honda EU i would reccomend the Hyundai HY.

I saw a guy in May struggling with his Hyundai (not sure what model). Maybe he needs to find you and get some tips ;)

Some of them come with a Torch spark plug, some with NGK. Mine was a huge slut to get started but ran fine once it was going, turns out it had the Torch plug in it. Hyundai warranty guy told me that its a common issue, i put an NGK plug in there and it has run flawlessly since then.
