When to service? (2009 Ninja 250r)

So I have a 2009 Ninja 250r and I bought it with 9k already. The guy who sold it to me said he changed the oil, replaced the back tire because the other one had a puncture and added a few things. Exhaust, windscreen nothing major.

I put about 12k on it, so the bike is at 21k right now. All I've done to the bike myself was change the oil, tighten the chain, flush the coolant and that's about it. I know that I have to change the brake pads cuz my stopping ability has really changed over time and the brake fluid is that colour where it needs to be changed. Aside from that though, is there anything in particular that I need to do? Maybe something precautionary? Took my bike out and it's running smooth as silk no problems whatsoever. Actually the bike has never given me any problems.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'll be taking it to a bike shop to see what they recommend I have done but I figured you guys would be more honest and I'll hear what you have to say before going to them.

Thanks!

Change oil every 5k. Keep an eye on the brake pads and replace them before they damage your rotors. Change brake fluid every 20k. Keep the chain properly lubed and you shouldn't have to worry about it much...

Sounds like you missed your first valve check/adjustment. That would have been at ~12,000km. Will want to look at those, for sure.
