What's the proper way of taking bike off the street?

So, decided to go track-only, so I cancelled my insurance. Couple of guys think I don't need to report anything to MTO, but I need a definitive answer, and I can't find it in Google. Anyone know? Also, I'd prefer to keep my plate and use it later if I decide to ride on the street again.

Your ownership has two sides, the right side is for the plate, the left side is for the bike.
If you decide to sell your bike, you rip the ownership in half and sign off the vehicle portion to the new owner.
You can keep your plate portion and have it transferred to the next bike if you choose to buy another one.
All you have to do is cancel the insurance, there is nothing else to it.

See you at the track all next season. :)

Many thanks :) I guess I was a bit confused because a friend bought an r6 a few months back, and he said the previous owner had it unplated and registered as "unfit"...so I was wondering if I won't be falling into the same category. But looks like that case was different, right?! If so, I'm all done and good, yeii

The only time a vehicle can be registered as "unfit/unplated" is when it's being transferred between two parties without a safety certificate.
The previous owner of your friend's bike probably never rode the bike, just registered it under his name and never actually plated it.
