What's the difference between IMAX and Empires Extra??

Going to watch Elysium today in KW. There is a showing in imax and another showing in empires extra.

Anyone know the difference? I been to the soctia imax in Toronto, never a empires extra

EDIT: Apparently the imax in kitchener is one of those "fake" imax with smaller screens..anyone confirm? lol

The Empire Extra screen I saw was curved, the seating had a very aggressive angle (so nobodies head in front of you will get in the way), and the audio sounded great. It uses the same digital projectors as IMAX, and uses the IMAX video files as well (2048 x 858 resolution).
