Hi. Bear in mind, this isn't "my kind" of bike, but I hope something I say will be of value to you.

Custom Exhaust: how loud? Some jurisdictions are enacting noise bylaws. Does it include the stock exhaust? If no stock exhaust, I wouldn't think it adds too much value. Loud exhausts don't save lives.

neon lights? really? Not my thing....

Are you buying from original owner?

Do maintenance records exist? If the bike has had regular maintenance done as per manual, it sounds like a good bike. I think 20K over 3 or 5 seasons (depending of it was bought from a dealership as an old model) is a decent amount of mileage. I mean: not really high, but enough that I think it is fair to say the bike didn't sit around "too much."

Are there other M50's for sale on the market? I'd compare to that, but I agree with rukus that 5 to 6 grand seems like a reasonable range. If I were in the market for an M50, and if it didn't have neon lights, I'd think that 5500 would be the right ballpark for me.

5500-6000 was the ballpark I had in mind.
I haven't had the chance to really scan through autotrader or kijiji but will do so shortly.
About the lights, I couldn't really see how good/bad they looked. Not really my thing either but if it's done right it could look decent.
The owner of the bike is a steel fabricator by trade. He modified the exhaust but I'm not sure what was done exactly.
Pretty loud when I saw him riding down street...

It looks pretty clean, here are a few pics...

Safetied or not?
No safety, no service records, $4700
Safety without service records or No Safety with service records $4900
Safety with service records $5300

Those are the numbers I'd shoot for.. might work, might not, and it gives you wiggle room with your budget... If you're serious, go with cash in hand - makes a huge difference in haggling ability.

I work for a car dealership, the guy wants to trade in his bike for a Jeep Gr. Cherokee I have for sale. All I wanted was to see how much it's worth in the market so I could give him a fair value for his trade.
I have a good idea on what it's worth now and will probably own that bike today if it all goes smoothly...

Thanks.

The market for 1000cc sport bikes in Ontario is terrible.

$6500 i think is the most you could expect to get for it.
