What would you do?

Need to replace oil pump on 1st gen SV (55,000 km). To do that I need to get the clutch basket out of the way. I'm thinking of buying aftermarket clutch kit and to replace that too since I'm there anyway. I'm sure this hasn't been replaced before.

I do notice some slipping periodically but nothing frequent. I'm sure some will say open it up and check first, and order just what you need. I just don't want to open, order, then wait for parts. My bike is my primary means of transport so I don't want it to be out of commission for long.

Do you think this is a waste of money (so check first) or worthwhile replacement anyway?

How in the world can your bike need that replaced?

Do the clutch. You already have it open and it's a wear item. And it's not big bucks. As far as the gear, use OEM, which means plastic.

The real question is, what would Chuck Norris do?
