I have a big obsession on tools for quite a bit now. I have been buying mastercraft maximums recently cuz of their life time warranty. I hear mixed reviews on them but they seem decent and when they go on sale they are inexpensive.

What brand of tools are in your tool box and how do you like them?

Hand tools, its Gray, Craftsman, and Maximum also.....

For power tools, its Milwawkee and DeWalt.

Air tools are almost all Ingersol-Rand.

At home I need tools to fix my car and toys. Mastercraft has been good to me. I have yet to break one of their sockets and I had quite of few rusty cars.

At work, Klein and Ideal. I remember my first days when I cut BX with Mastercraft pliers :). Klein, or any other pro brand is from from a different dimension compared to Mastercraft. Also my company provides Makita drills. DAMN I love them. They look a lot slimmer than most drills out there but they have awesome power.

Mostly Makita and Bosch for powertools, and generally Mastercraft (cheap, realiable, good warranty) for hand tools in the garage.

Snap-On, SK and Grey for hand tools.
Makita and Bosch for electric.
Ingersol-Rand, Snap-On and Mac for pneumatic.

I have a black&decker power drill so far ok but crappy drill bits that came with the kit.

I'm no professional so I think I'm might stay with the maximum brand for hand tools.

Bosch jig and circular saw, Ridgid Mitre saw, mastercraft table saw
Mastercraft max cordless drill Milwaukee hammer drill,

Husky crescent wrench's, Stanley black chrome sockets
Mastercraft screwdrivers, dremel rotary tools

I've got a couple of Channellock wire strippers that were worth every penny. Those things are a joy to use. There's lots of Mastercraft stuff in the workbench too, but I'm still looking for a set of quality hobby sized pliers

I cant live without my klein plyers and side cutters. But klein screwdrivers have gone to ****.

I'm picky when it comes to tools (lic'd mech) and Mastercraft tools used to be complete crap. Their Maximum line is actually half decent. I wouldn't use them to daily to earn money with but they seem to be well made. They're probably made by SK or similar manufacturer.

My tools are mastercraft maximum stuff... I've never seen one fail under normal use... I've seen a socket crack while used on an impact gun, but only once.
I have the odd motorcycle tool here and there, and if I need a tool that I know won't get used too much, I'll get it from Princess Auto... I needed a hex impact set for my sled suspension to take off two bolts so I picked up a set from there as I will likely only use it twice a year... Once to get the suspension off and once to throw it back up.

Channel-lock for side cutters and wire strippers. Husky for ratcheting wrenches (god i love those), screwdrivers are a meh...i have one snap-on ratcheting bit screwdriver.

for me its more about the number of tools than quality. I HATE!!! walking back and fourth for tools between the garage, basement and work. So i have pretty much a set of tools at each location.

For powertools Makita has always been a good name for me from when i lived in Europe, there Makita's name is what Milwaukee is here. Thats why i have a Makita li-ion drill and circular saw. A Husky 18 gal and a 1978 23 gal Cambell-Hausfeld compressors.

And i just bought my biggest, most expensive and oldest tool. A 1963 Boxford lathe.

not mine but very similar.

I use Mastercraft because I'm cheap. :)

+1 haha

That's the minimum for me, though. If I'm in a pinch or I need a specific screwdriver for a one time job or something, I'll make-do with whatever Job Mate piece of crap canadian tire has on sale.

My dad is a retired millwright, though, so if I don't have it I usually borrow his stuff ;)

Whatever I find when I'm looking for one.

My socket set is a MasterCraft. Most of my specific tools (pullers and whatnot) are from Princess Auto because anything else seems to be retarded expensive. Got some allen sockets there that were good enough to remove seized items on my 23 year old Porsche so I figure it's good enough for most of my work.

Im just a shade tree mechanic so most of my stuff is craftsman/mastercraft maximum. For working on the bike which has a large number of allen bolts, I really like using bondhus t-handle allen wrenches.

Name a brand and I probably have something by them. My shop is a mess of old stuff. Mainstays: for electrical, can't beat Klein.
Saws, Bosch and Skil for circular saws (the wormdrive Skil is over 50 years old and still a powerhouse) I also have a Mall saw with a conversion kit so that you can use it as a router; I don't even remember when they went out of business. Table saw and reciprocatig saw are Ridgid. Scroll/jig saws are Craftsman and B&D. Don't know the brand of my Drill press as it was donated by Alcan when they were bought out and I never looked at the brand. Drills are Bosch, Craftsman, Skil, Rona and B&D. Also one old hammer drill that the name is worn off and a Mall drill with an attachment for a drill press. Battery drills and impact drivers are Bosch and B&D. Hand tools are Gray, Craftsman, Mastercraft and husky, plus some no-name stuff from Princess Auto that was on sale. Router is Craftsman. Air tools are Mastercraft. Plus a whole bunch of other assorted items from many different manufacturers. I really need to clean the place up as I have so many duplicates.

I'm a big Craftsman user, I have a few Mastercraft tools as well. The rest of them are random Channel Lock and cheapo Princess Auto-purchased bits and pieces.
